UCSF Pre Interview Holds: Anyone get some info?

I am on the gloomy ucsf pre interview hold list, looking for info but not getting much. all ive found is this...

anyone get a hold and get off the list?

what do you think about writing letters of intent at this stage?

SF is my #2 choice and im a little steamed that im stuck in limbo here. not sure what to do....

So you received a letter telling you, you were on hold? I've been complete at UCSF since mid-September, and haven't heard crap. I've seen a couple of posts recently that claimed to get post-secondary rejections, so I thought I'd get mine too, but I haven't. I wonder what they're doing with my app. Did your status pages change?

If you are placed on hold, your status page will reflect it after a few days. I met one person at an interview who had gotten an UCSF invite after being placed on hold for a couple weeks.

i got a letter about the hold, my status page does NOT reflect this status. my page just says im complete, will be contacted, like it did before i got the letter.

yeah, i'm on hold pre-interview there too, and status page looks just the same.

so Pinkertinkle, did your friend who got an interview and then acceptance write a letter of intent, or do you just sit tight on this letter?

It was another interviewee that had gotten an interview, not an acceptance, after being on h old. I did not have a chance to ask her in detail, though I would guess that she did not send a letter of intent.

it's been a while, but just wondering if any hold applicants had heard from UCSF. i called them, and they said that all holds were going to be reviewed again in february. pinkertinkle, didn't you mention you had met someone who was on, and then got off right away? or was that last year?

if they won't review until feb i might as well wait until late january to send an update, so they have the most current info..

I haven't heard anything yet, but I'm afraid I'm going to get a rejection. I've seen someone post that they got a post-secondary rejection from them recently, so I'm getting really nervous about it. I never officially got put on "hold" so I'm not sure where that puts me on their priority list (for rejections or interviews). Anyway, the wait is killing me. I don't want to check my mail anymore though.

Yes, I met someone who was on hold for a few weeks and then got an interview. It was in October, this year, and in a situation where there was little incentive to be dishonest.
