UCSF/SFSU decisions?

Anyone heard from UCSF/SFSU? I know they’ve recently geared towards holistic admissions, so I’m hoping for the best of luck!

Hi there! I also applied and I believe they get back to students regarding interviews at the start of the new year with admissions decisions being finalized in March.

Thanks!! Someone on the California cycle thread said that UCSF will send out invites today or early next week so there might still be invites going out!

Here are my stats:
- cumulative GPA: 3.3
- last 60/90 units: 3.61
- prereq GPA: 3.4-3.5
- GRE: 159 Q, 153 V, 4.0 AW
- 4 letters of rec
- 1400 outpatient hrs from 3 different settings (2 hospitals, 1 private practice), 4 inpatient hrs (couldn't continue due to covid)
- a lot of extracurriculars (peer mentor, mental health board, undergrad TA, anatomy lab aide, research assistant)

We have similar stats (especially w the inpatient hours)! this gives me hope lol, do you think they'll continue to send out more interview invites or today was the only day?

Oh yay and I am not sure because I didn't talk to them but hopefully they will send more! I hope you get one too!

I also got the email for an interview invite on Friday too! I am from California and would've loved to go to UCSF but the commute between three campuses is making me doubt whether or not I should still attend the interview. I'm still thinking about it since I was accepted to my dream program literally an hour before the email :/
 
For those that got the email on Friday - may I know your stats? I haven’t received an email (which I guess no news is still good news) and I was hopeful to at least get an interview. It’s hard *not* to compare in these situations lol

Hi! I wanted to respond because I feel that my consideration attests to their shift towards a more holistic approach.

Undergrad Degree: San Jose State University
Major: Kinesiology
*cGPA: 3.0
pGPA: 3.7
Last 60 units: 3.5
GRE: 155Q, 153V, 4.0W
LOR: 1 professor, 2 PTs, 1 work supervisor
3000+ hours outpatient only
Extracurriculars: Billing Specialist/Operations Management at a PT clinic, collegiate athletics, community organizing, Volunteer (10+ instances)

*My cumulative GPA is low as a result of trying to go to school full-time while working full-time(often 2 jobs +internships) to put myself through undergrad financially and continuing to play sports; I was absolutely spreading myself to thin and not prioritizing school but I did my best to correct this and show improvement over time.

Wow we have almost identical stats, especially w the outpatient (I have 6000 outpatient only) and a 3.5 the last 60. My cgpa is also on the lower end due to certain circumstances. I’m hoping they plan on sending out more interviews throughout the month - thanks for responding! Did you get accepted/interviews anywhere else?

I'm sure they will continue to update applicants! And I have yet to hear back from anyone else.

Hey, I also feel like my application would show how holistic admissions processes can be! My undergraduate GPA was extremely low (<3.0 but you can feel free to message me to know exactly how low) but my last 60 units was a 4.0 after I figured out my passion and made a career change to physical therapy. I honestly would've never thought I'd have a chance at UCSF but I think personal statements and experiences really make all the difference in the world.

Undergrad: UC Berkeley
Major: Political Science, Minor in Public Health
cGPA: 3.25-3.4 depending on how each school calculates
pGPA: 4.0
GRE: 157V 162Q 5.0AW
Observation Hours: 2,000+ (pelvic health, outpatient ortho/sports, neuro peds, inpatient at SNF)
LOR: 2 prereq class professors, 2 PTs, 1 research professor
Experience: shadowed/worked in variety of PT settings, ergonomics research at UC Berkeley/UCSF, home care aide for client with cerebral palsy, leadership positions in college clubs, taught exercise class to seniors at SNF, non-profit experience, experience in grant writing

pGPA: somewhere between 3.5 and 3.7, idk my UCSF/CSUSF specific pGPA

GRE: 164V/159Q/5W

LOR: 1 employer, 1 prof, 1 PT, 1 physician

Observation hours: ~40 inpatient, ~300 verified outpatient, 3 settings. I'm a pt aide rn so constantly gaining hours but I got my hours verified a few months ago. I've seen pediatrics, geriatrics, pelvic floor, orthopedic, cardiac, vestibular, neuro

Extracurricular: student employment, lots of volunteering with multiple nonprofits, mentorship, volunteering in PICU
 
Did anyone receive an email yet where we can schedule an interview appointment? They said they were sending those out this week.

@transan3 LOL I wish! It says that the school sends out financial aid applications as early as possible in the application cycle so I think everyone else will get it too. I got it in the mail yesterday but maybe I got it early because I live in San Francisco
 
I just got the sign up link! I'm glad they offer saturday times. does anyone know how many people they interview?
 
I got the interview last week Friday and got the notice to sign up for it yesterday as well as the financial aid notice!
 
yep! They said in the panel on Saturday that now the interviews are done, it will go really fast. all decisions (accept/waitlist/reject) will go out by Friday.

everyone will get an email but accepted students will also be getting a phone call.

Me neither! Do you guys think there’s a possibility calls will go until Friday? From previous years it seemed only Monday- Wednesday
 
Seems no one in this forum received a call yet. I Think tomorrow Is the last day since I don’t think they work on Saturday.
 
It’s pretty interesting! I was going over your previous posts and all of you have a really good portfolio! Maybe they are just waiting until tomorrow?
