Hi guys.

I had been anxiously awaiting an acceptance from my dream school of UCSF since my January interview. Although I didn't get the acceptance I wanted, I did get placed in the "high priority" category.

I'm sure this has been discussed before, and I apologize if this is redundant. I just want to know should I be happy I still have a shot, or is this just a prelude to a rejection?

They say that around 20-30% of the people get in from this category, and I hope those numbers are accurate.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

send them a letter of interest.

definitely send in a LOI asap. i have two friends who are 3rd years now at ucsf who were placed in this category when they applied. they also sent in any new grades and additional letter of recs to make their apps stand out and when they got in, they both asked what put them over the top and they were both told it was their persistence and enthusiasm with LOI's, update letters and new recommendation letters that got them in. I hope this helps and good luck!!!
