Wasn’t my year either, the email just says I haven’t been selected and then gives ranking for MMI, essay, and casper.
Congrats and good luck everyone !!! 🩷

Did anyone receive a call but no email yet? I just called Kristy to make sure that she’s going to send it to me and now it’s making me nervous haha

If anyone is looking to rent a house between 3 people let me know! (I just need a backyard so I’m really hoping to find 2 roommates)

Is anyone who got in interested in making a group chat or something to get ready for the year?

For those of us that didn’t get in this year. Does anyone know if the mcat and academic requirements will be the same for next year?

Congratulations to everyone who got a call today, and also to those who didn’t but got through this roller coaster of a process. You should be so proud of your efforts! For those on the waitlist, I was there last year and I know it’s tough. Anyone who is looking for advice on admissions or 1st year of vet school, feel free to message me. I’m happy to help :)

For those wondering about how the waitlist works, last year it was like this: 14 people were on the waitlist and we were notified the same day initial calls went out. They will not tell you where you are on the list. You could be called with an offer any time until September, and in the past there have been offers made within the first week of school.

Same!! I fully opened my email thinking it was a rejection letter! Never felt such wide range of emotions in 5 seconds hahaha

How long after initial offers went out did you get off the waitlist ?

anyone else who didn't get in, how are you feeling? I'm pretty disappointed, I honestly thought my interviews went great. I started practicing for them basically in November, before I even got my interview invite. I thought I was well spoken, I practiced with other vets I knew and they were all impressed with my answers, I went to interview prep, I practiced with friends and family. I came out of the interviews feeling awesome because it was just like how I practiced. I feel like I did everything I could have and yet I somehow ended up 3rd quartile. I really can't think of any ways of how I could improve my score. Ughhh super defeated, but onto next year. If anyone has any tips for interviews that I somehow haven't practiced yet pleaseeee let me know because I must've done something wrong 🫠 hate how we don't get more in depth feedback lol

I’m just getting worried about my future. I don’t want to be working a minimum wage job the rest of my life, but I guess that’s the best I can do. I felt the same as you coming out, only I ranked dead dead last. I wouldn’t have even gotten in if they accepted 123/124 people. I’m more upset tho that I wasted my whole life for this and am getting absolutely no where. I can’t even get a job in a vet clinic, idk why I thought I’d ever get accepted.

For those of you who are feeling down about not getting in, I totally understand where you are coming from. This decision does not by any means define your ability to succeed in this profession. I got in on my 3rd attempt (1 rejection, 1 waitlist, 1 acceptance). It was definitely mentally challenging and you have every right to take some time to feel sad or frustrated, but please do not let it deter you from trying again. Also, there will be more seats next for the class of 2029 so there will be even more opportunities for everyone! Feel free to message me if you want to chat about anything!

Please don't be so hard on yourself. There are people who get accepted into veterinary medicine with very little experience in clinics, providing they had animal experience hours in other parts of industry (ie. wildlife rescue, livestock, research, Canadian Food Inspection, etc.). My apologies if you have already attempted, but you could always volunteer a few hours a week in clinic and get your foot in the door that way. I hope that you will consider reapplying next year, I'm sure your dedication will only become more evident as time progresses. :)

Two people in my class received their email to get off the waitlist almost a month after initial offers went out, but it totally depends on the year and how many people defer etc.
