So I've just begun a modified nearly 5 month variation of the SN2ed schedule, but like many I've seen here.. Physics is my downfall.

I've been using chad's videos, freelance teacher's, along with TBR passages, and ek1001.. But my retention is garbage and though I'm not completely sucking on passages, I'm not doing well.. I know my problem is content. I don't know the material well enough. But I'm supposed to be on day 3 of the Sn2 schedule and I'm still stuck on kinematics day 1!!

Am I supposed to stick with this topic until I master it or do I settle for a mediocre understanding and keep coming back to it while moving on to the next?

When you guys are working through material/passages.. What do you if you know the reason for the error is content? Stop the schedule and stay on that until you know it inside and out??

I feel like if keep up at this rate it's going to take me a week to get through each chapter and of course, I don't have that kind of time!:scared:

You suppose to stick with a topic until you get it IMO...I made that mistake and the first passage encountered in my PS last Sept when I took the mcat was the topic I was not good at and ignored...I paid a big price...I was getting 9-11 in PS (mostly 10) and I had a 7 in PS in the actual test. I attributed that 7 to that mistake I made...If you are using BR and you are not getting 70%+ on a topic, I think you should go over it again until you get it. If it take you 6+ months to do the SDN2ed schedule so be it. I think the benefit will outweight the risk of not undertanding a topic well enough. I am using the 4-month SDN2ed but I predicted it will take me 5-month+ to complete it....I scheduled my test for the end of May. But if I have to postpone, I will.

What kind of proficiency are we talking about here? In my opinion if you can get around a 10 on the first or second 1/3 of the SN2ed schedule you should be good to move on (probably comes out to around 65% for physics). It's kind of unrealistic to be scoring in the 13-15 range right away on every section.

Yikes. Well I'm definitely not there.. I haven't scored them to scale, but in a passage with 9 questions, I'm averaging about 3 correct, 1 or 2 skipped and the rest wrong.. All untimed.

There's no doubt that I have to keep reviewing until I'm more sound, but my question is exactly what you posed..How many should I be getting right before I move on??

Anything <60% like the previous poster said should warrant some more in depth study.

I think it all depends on your goals. If you are shooting for a 30+, 60% or better under timed conditions is what you should aim for. If you're content with a sub 10 PS score, then you could move on earlier. I don't think there's any harm in spending more time if you need it, and you may have to lengthen the schedule in order to fit it all in.

Also, another thing I should mention is that doing more practice problems is definitely more helpful than re-reading the chapters.
