I just thought I would make a thread about the potential issues from Rita. They've already closed the university. Hopefully this won't affect the admissions process too much.

I'd be more worried about the building and the students than the admissions office  UHCO is in a flood area... this could be very very not good :scared:

During your time at UHCO did you face problems from hurricanes, evacuations, flooding, etc? I'm not going to make a decision based on the prevalence of natural disasters... but... it is something to think about!

not one 🙂

Yeah, they closed the school until Monday. Hopefully water will recede off the streets before it’s time to drive back on Sunday. It took us 17.5 hrs to get from Houston to Dallas, and a lot of people took slower routes.

I just talked to one of my classmates. She left Thursday at 1am, and run out of gas something like 100 miles away from Houston. They were able to find shelter at a local church. She said that she knew of other classmates who weren’t able to get far from Houston either :scared:

One of my friends left houston Thursday at 2 pm and she didn't arrive in austin until Friday at 1:30 pm. Can you imagine a 23 hour car trip that should've only been 2 and a half hours. I would go crazy (😵).....
