UIC and Rush

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I had one of the first interview dates at UIC and we were told that the admissions committee was meeting for the first time in early Nov. to make decisions on all the interviews that happened since then. I haven't heard from Rush.

Rush has started sending out interview invitations. I got one at the beginning of last week.

Loyola, Rush and UIC will send out acceptances and will give the applicant two weeks after to send in their acceptance letters. I heard this is so they can fill up their classes early on. When my cousin applied, he was acceted to Rush three weeks after he received his Loyola acceptance. He sent an acceptance letter to Loyola because he did not know if he would get accepted to any other school. But he said in the end he would have chosen Loyola.

acceptances are conditional until may 14... you can freely withdraw up until that point.

yeah i got an interview at UIC somewhat early, but decided that i am not going to go....

hope someone else can take advantage. 😉

Rushy offered me an interview on October 6th... but somehow I never got the email. I found out today when I called THEM... sigh. I can't set up my interview now until Monday and I probably missed all the early time slots this fall

So let's say, for example, you got into UIC, and you send them the deposit and letter stating that you will go there...then you get into another school. Can you then send this another school the deposit and letter stating that you will go there, or do you have to withdraw from UIC first? So, can you tell more than one med school that you will attend there?

How do you go about withdrawing?

yeah u can pay deposits to as many schls as u are accepted to. You dont need to withdraw.
Some are against doing that because that means taking up more spots, thereby keeping others on the waitlist. But yeah u can do that. I know many people who pay deposits to several schools, while they try to make up their mind, and see maybe who offers them the most money or something.

Then, when you decide one final school, how do you go about telling the other schools that you will not be attending there? Letter? Email? Phone? (Click "delete" on AMCAS?...does that even work if you want to withdraw?)

A written letter or email will probably work fine.
