Hey,

I have an interview at UIC in chicago in March and was wondering where you guys stayed for your interview (hotels or on campus with a current student).

-If you stayed at a Hotel, do you remember the rate and how close it was to campus?
-If you stayed with a student, how was the experience?

Also, I will be flying in from DC and wanted to know what the transportation was like from the airport to the hotel/campus. i.e. do they offer shuttle buses for this purpose, or did you need to take a cab.

Thanks alot for your help.

there is a marriott hotel right across from the medical school. it is called the Chicago Marriott at Medical District. Not sure about the pricing.

There are also tons of hotels in downtown chicago that are near public transportation. Or you could stay downtown and easily take a cab to your interview.

UIC med school is located just off the Polk Blue/Pink line stop. Be forewarned that the Polk Blue line only runs during rush hour, so plan to take the pink line from downtown.

Getting from Ohare to downtown is super easy. the blue line runs straight from the airport ($2) to downtown.

if you have more specific questions, PM me. hope this helps!

heh... have fun in rush hour. you could probably take the L from ohare there and itll be easy to select which line you have to get on from the terminal down in the lower level. As far as staying at a hotel is concerned, I would try and get with a student there. The hotels will most certainly not be cheap.

Hey thanks for the advice. I think I'll take the train to, and from, the airport. But, which stop is UIC's college of medicine at? I'm almost positive that I'll stay with a student host (just need to make the call and set it up, interview is in a little over a month) and I need to know which stop to get off at.

Thanks for all your help.
