Hey guys, I have a question

My gpa is a 3.02 overall, 3.00 prerequisite GPA, and 3.07 science/math gpa. Do I have a shot at UIC CoP, Chicago State Pharmacy School, Texas Tech PharmD school(Pioneer Pathway)? I have a lot of EC/volunteer hours, excellent personal statement, excellent LORs, working as a pharm tech at Rite Aid, and everything else looks strong, but not a great interview how will that impact my admissions? Will I still be accepted since adcoms utilize a holistic review of the application?

The more broad the question the more subjective the answers. 3.00 pre-reqs with 3.07 science/math, but no idea if this is after one semester vs one year of school. Is this after ALL completed pre-reqs? Is this prior to earning a bachelors (are you aiming for a bachelors)? Are you applying abroad or specifically to the aforementioned programs?

If this is after all pre-requisites then sure, you have a chance. If this is after a bachelors (of which most these days do not pursue a 4-year degree) then of course, you have a chance. Although not as important these days, I suppose some merit could be said as to where you did your undergrad courses (CC/online/brick-n-mortar).

As far as getting an interview, I suppose if you had past experiences with interviews for dental school, I would say your chances are as strong (if not stronger) getting interviews for PharmD programs (magnitude increases substantially the more schools you apply to).

As for not being a great interview candidate I would have one question to ask - why pharmacy? If you can answer that to any extent, nothing says you can't get an acceptance anywhere. Look on past threads on here about acceptances to pharmacy school and you may end up feeling a bit more at ease..

Will I still be accepted since adcoms utilize a holistic review of the application?
Subjective -

To help better answer these questions and get a decent background from you, why pharmacy? Past threads show you applied and interviewed for dental school programs. Why all of a sudden a change of heart? What was it about dental school that got you interested and what is it about pharmacy that now has you interested? Dynamic changes and shifts are happening in the pharmacy field so have you done some research on what to expect and what you're interested in?

If you're giving up on dental school because of competitiveness (makes me now feel like your GPA is based on a bachelors at this point) and looking for a pivot without feeling like you wasted all of your undergrad classes, then I would say apply broadly to multiple PharmD programs and you'll eventually land somewhere and perhaps graduate (getting licensed is another discussion along with market trends). Hybrid Pioneer Pathway (with 24 slots) at Texas Tech may be a wash depending on the number of applicants jumping on this new start-up being advertised.

its after all pre-reqs and after a bachelor 4-year degree

Individuals have been accepted to UIC with those stats. I cannot speak on the Pioneer Pathway since it's first cohort was Fall 2024 -
Can you explain to me about the interview process at UIC?

Feedback based on Chicago State University SOP:

For general interview feedback of other schools, you can look them up here:

I cannot say - again, first cohort was this past Fall 2024 and with only ~25 slots, I do not know how well adaptive (ie, pass NAPLEX) or competitive they're making themselves. You can only apply and see what happens.
