Does any1 know how the waitlist in ranked at UIC dental school. Do they rank it based on the interview dates, or how do they do it?? Any advice or comments would b gr8ly appreciated 🙂

I'm not really sure how they rank it, I was wondering people usually get in off of the waitlist

Today, I forfeited my seat at UIC, so that should give one person on the waitlist some good news. Maybe that person will be you.

Ron Jeremy,
were you in-state or out-of-state?

In-state. I decided to attend UoP.

I was recently waitlisted at UIC. I contacted the ever helpful Ann Sharrock and she informed me that about 40 people are waitlisted and then ranked. If you ask you can find out where you are on the list.

People I know at UIC inform me that the first 10 people are very likely to get in and people in the 20's on the list have even been admitted.

This may be help some of you deal with the uncertainty of the process. It seems that with multiple applications many people are admitted from the waitlist.

Good luck to you and I hope to see you in the fall.

I chose UoP over UIC for many reasons. Some of my reasons are:
- 3 year program
- I have an Air Force HPSP scholarship, so I'm not concerned about the cost differences
- I want to practice in California in the long-term
- Everyone I've talked to, both alumni and current UoP students, absolutely love the school and couldn't imagine going anywhere else.
- I've lived in the midwest my whole life, so now is a good time to try a new location. San Francisco is really nice, so I thought it would be a great place to live for a few years.

As you can see, most of my reasons were purely based on personal life preferences.

One last thing, I know that I will definitely miss Chicago. I truly believe that Chicago is one of the 3 best cities in America.

Hey Ron J.,

About Pacific...have you heard at all that it would be even more stressful and hectic to finish dental school in just 3 years? It's like accelerated dental school, isn't it? Dental school at regular pace seems really busy enough.

Just wondering what you've heard about this. I heard from someone else who graduated there that it was just nuts.

Thanks.

I have talked to numerous people, both alumni and current students of UoP, and they all tell me that the 1st year is hell, but the 2nd and 3rd are not too bad. I was told that I just need to survive the 1st year.

Since I have already taken a ton of upper level bio classes, I hope that will help me keep up with the pack.

Basically, UoP can finish in 3 years because on years 2 & 3, classes start at 8 AM, and evening clinics run from 6-9 in the evening.

Yes, I am expecting the curriculum at UoP to be completely overwhelming and challenging, but that is the case at any d-school.

Can you guys please post your stats?

Go to predents.com, and on the UoP page, you will see my name listed on the "accepted" list. Click on my name and you will be able to see all my stats.
