UIC (for OOS applicant) or NYU

wats the cost comparison? r u instate after the first yr? chicago is cheaper living wise too,

The tuition comparison is essentially a wash, NYU being a couple thousand more a year. You're right though, cost of living will definitely be higher in NYC. As far as I know one cannot obtain residency while being enrolled full-time at UIC, so the tuition would remain at OOS rates for 4 years. Any edge as far as specialty placement, notoriety, other intangibles??

one more thing to consider might be class size, do u want a big class (aka. staying under the radar) or a small class size where u will get to know people more intimately.

Not sure about the class size, I see pros and cons to having a big or a small class size. Any other factors that anyone can think of?

Does anyone have any suggestions? I see many similarities including: similar costs, urban campuses, many research opportunities (as well as established clinical programs), similar climate, large patient pools, and diversity. The main differences I'm considering so far are class size and state school vs. private. The differences also have pros and cons that do not, in my opinion, tip the balance significantly. I am really at a loss here deciding between the two; I'm truly torn. Is there anything else that I should know, or is there something that would sway an applicant one way or another?
