CONGRATULATIONS GUYS ... Im from IDDP class of 2012 ... im glad all of u made it , and to those who r in alternate list ... u can expect acceptances till as late as april , cos ppl in our class got acceptances really late , so keep the faith , and id suggest keep in tuch wid braulia!!!

do you know how many student they called from the waiting list last year
 
atleast 5 or 6 ppl were accepted from alternate list so dont loose hoope 🙂

so, this thread has been pretty quiet lately! does anyone have any idea how many people have confirmed their positions!!?

As far as I know 10-11 candidates have excepted.....don't know about the rest.
 
do u mean 10-11 have accepted their seats at uic .their date for confirming acceptances was oct 28th.i really hope what ur saying is true coz i am waitlisted and 😕

r u sure of this number....how do you know about it......i dont want to start getting hopeful without reason
 
Guys I am not trying to give any false hope to anyone....was trying to pass info which I have.
As of today, 12 students have joined the IDDP class of 2013 group on FB.There may be more candidates who got accepted but are not in the group.
I wish best of luck for all of you who are waiting.....I know how it feels 'cause not long ago I was in the same situation.Keep your hopes high🙂

UIC is calling people from the waitlist. I got the acceptance letter last wednesday by email. Since I will go to a different school somebody else will get an acceptance email during next days. Good luck to everybody!

i hate to be the one giving this news ....but as of now the waitlisted candidates have already been called for the time being.....unless someone doesnt join from them others would be called......i talked to braulia and she told me this🙁
 
They said about 40 candidates were on waitlist.So I wonder how many have been accepted? I am waitlisted too....
 
it's strange that from so many waitlisted on sdn,only one got the offer and though he/she refused....no one we know on sdn got the offer🙁. i AM very sad

i am not sure, but i have heard it again and again that UIC is always scared of giving admission to highly qualified candidates. perhaps scared of their knowledge.
 
thats what i felt too that if people get accepted we would see more banana dances on sdn......😕 i am wondering too how many waitlisted persons were called....seems like not many from the forum
 
well, i guess the people who have got offers are not on the forum! i spoke to braulia yesterday, she said if places open up again, they would be sending out more offers! so can only keep hoping even though chances are pretty slim now!

why will u say that? we have a ton of people who atr so over qualified they should be given DDS right away
 
well that is what i was told too. but perhaps they are just scared of overqualified and knowledgeable people to come in to the program as these candidates know a lot already either by skill or knowledge and they do not want to train them into the system b/c they feel threatened.

lol u make me laugh, i don't want to tell u that i am "over qualified" but i wanna tell u that i have a DDS, MDS, master's degree in oral and maxillo-facial surgery , postgraduate training, worked as a dentist for 4 years, as an assistant in USA over 4 years, alot of researches, attended alot of seminars and courses, qualified to do MDI and SybronePRO implants, passed part 1,2, ece 3.53, toefl 98 what else u want to know, do u think they can teach me how to extract a tooth or do filling ,I got accepted at UIC, lol man just be patient and u will be there i struggled 3 years to get accepted in dental school just don't lose hope and faith. good luck to u and to all other applicants.

You will be bored at the dental school when they make you prepare cavities on typodont🙂
 
that is what i do not understand myself as to why 4 different people who had good knowledge of the program would tell me that. i always heared good things about UIC IDDP, the interviewing faculty and have come across highly qualified people in the program😕.
 
I spoke to Braulia this morning and she said 5 people have been called from the waiting list...........
 
did she say anything else like if they r going to call anymore or if all the 30 seats r confirmed.i have been trying to reach her as wellbut always get voicemail.
 
Is this the same wait listed people that foriegndds was talking about around the 1st week of Nov or is this the 2nd set of waitlisted people being called?

This thread has been really quiet lately. Has anyone else received any acceptances or are we all still playing the waiting game?
 
hi all...
i havent recieved any interview call nor rejection letter anything..when will uic send its rejections so as atleast we come to know the loopholes in our application for applying next year...or they dont follow up at all ??? i called so many times and left msges..i also wrote email to update me with the statuse..but all in vain..pls let me know if at all they gave updates to anyone...

You are not alone.Even I got all info. from SDN only ,about what's going on. UIC didn't send me any e-mail.🙁

Got rejected in September I think, dont care got into PENN, they are set for this year, according to Msr. Espinosa, spoke to her in Sept.
 
Wow...congratulations Evik23!!
Its good to know that the waitlist is moving...gives hope to people like me who are still on waitlist!!
 
Just for an update on people who are waiting. I was called off the waitlist but I declined as I had started aprogram already. Dont get disheartened, the wait list is moving. Good luck

Hey guys we are 19 people in the facebook group..we were just 15 for a while but just this week we got 4 new people so I guess they are calling from that list! So HOPE HOPE!!:luck:

By any chance does anyone know how many seats have been filled yet?[apart from the 19 on facebook]
