I know people say you have to be well rounded and its more than just a numbers game to get into pharm school. However, I was hoping someone knew of some statistics for UIC. I would be a transfer and was curious as to what their average GPA and PCAT scores were. I just want to have some idea on my chances. I had a 3.1 in Biochem in college, tons of lab research, 2 years study coordinator in clinical research. How does a 3.1 stack up to the median GPA at UIC???

I'm not sure where one would find the median. And I forgot my glasses for my business trip so I'm typing blind and don't think I can handle searching around AACP or UIC's website. =)

But I am going to make a pretty assumption in saying that 3.1 is on the lower end of the median gpa that UIC accepts. Keep in mind that though it is on the lower end, you are still considered relatively competitive depending on your EC's. How's your PCAT score? Your research experience is a definate plus, but what about outside of academia?

If you are curious about the avg. gpa and pcat scores, you can always go to www.pharmcas.org. I think they have the statistics for 2004. 😉

Thanks, superhelpful.....

Im new to the PCAT scene, so what is considered a solid score for a UIC???

A solid score would be somewhere in the range of 80-90 percentile range.

UIC's supposed avg PCAT for 04 was a 91. But there are ppl who have gotten in with a lower to mid-80's composite..but don't forget the EC's, GPA and pharm experience.
