Just wanted to let you know that UIC's status page just updated. I'm not sure how to interpret the result. I'm just curious what sorts of "results" you fellow applicants received.
 
what do you mean? mine didnt change. do you mean for people that already interviewed?
 
Yeah. I interviewed 12/8 and the status page has reflected so. I didn't get the "Applicant Response Pending" that people got when they were accepted so I'm assuming that I've been rejected. 🙁
 
I don't know.....mine still says "Application is in Process"
 
I got this when I checked just now:

A final decision was made on your application on 12-15-03. Please allow two-weeks to receive the correspondence in the mail. If you do not receive this correspondence in two-weeks, please contact the Admissions Office. No decision will be given over the telephone.

I don't want to interpret anything just yet ...

What did you want to see? Do you know what they say if it's an acceptance? 🙁
 
They're not going to tell you if you've been accepted over the Internet. Written documentation via snail mail will give you your decision. It doesn't mean anything, you could be waitlisted, accepted, or rejected... although I doubt you're rejected... waitlisted at worst.
 
i have yet to receive word o an interview. my page changed from "Application is in Process" to "Applicant in Process". Does this mean anything or an I really stretching it here?

Finally a status change even more meaningless than ours.
 
I got no change, still the same thing as before: "decision pending".
 
my only change was..i went from "application process" to
"interview letter date: 12/15" i this mean my interview letter was sent on 12/15?

It does. And you'll get another letter later to confirm your interview date.

Ah yes. I remember that.

But maybe they didn't want to give it away on the website anymore, so they changed it to something that gives the same response whether it's an acceptance, rejection or waitlist.

Also, if we don't get a response, we're supposed to call them in 2 weeks. If rejection was a sure thing, why would they bother to tell us this?

Simply too little info to assume anything, positive or negative.

I knew there was a good reason why you have the username "optimist." I'm feeling much better even if it ultimately is a rejection letter. 🙂
 
my status changed to the final decision has been made thingy before i received my acceptance letter in the mail. it doesn't mean you've been rejected.
 
That makes me feel a whole lot less depressed. At least for the moment anyway.

ok..i just got an interview at UIC on 1/14 at chicago..do you think they'll still have spots open for Chicago campus med school...i heard it was first come first serve...
 
cheer up those with "a final decision has been made on you application". i had that response and i was accepted. i thought it meant bad news, too. but it wasn't! it means you're accepted or rejected and not waitlisted. most likely, it wasn't rejected since the interview season is still relatively early... best wishes.
 
Since I interviewed around the first week of Dec like these other posters that have already gotten some activity on their status, should I be worried that mine still says Decision pending?
 
No, it probably means they didn't make a decision on you yet. I interviewed in Oct. and after the first meeting of the committee I was placed on hold. They review aps once a month, so I'm hoping they will make a decision on me this time!
 
I think they met last week, so I hope you hear something very soon. At least you or I should say "we" haven't been officially waitlisted at this point. I really really want to go to UIC, my top choice school. How about you?
 
It's definitely one of my top choices. I'm definitely glad I'm not officially waitlisted or rejected, but it was disappointing to be put on hold with such an early interview. I really hope we both hear something this month too! I would definitely want the Chicago campus, so hearing something soon is key. Keep me updated if you hear anything!

Yes, I live just outside Chicago.

Yesterday, on the status page it said Additional Correspondence 12/16/03 on the top right, so you can check to see if your letter has been sent out yet.

I got the dreaded email just now from UIC... "you have been reviewed during the Dec meeting and no decision has been made". This sucks, 2 months in a row. 🙁 Oh, well, I should be happy I have other options.
 
I called the admissions people to scedule an interview and the person who answered the phone seemed like she was tired of taking phone calls or not as friendly as she could be, but I guess I might be the same way after so many calls. I decided to schedule my interview in Rockford on Jan. 7. I'm curious to know if I'll be one of a few interviewing that day. On the phone, it seemed that only a small number of people interview there. Any advice from the acceptees?

Mine still says applicant in process, but I got a call yesterday from Rockford and scheduled a Jan 22 interview.

What's up with that?

I'm flying home for Christmas and won't be back until 1/8!!!! I haven't received anything from UIC although "additional correspondance" was sent on 12/16. If it's a rejection, oh well but what if it's an acceptance? I won't be able to respond in their 2 week deadline! Nobody's here to check the mail either.
 
I think you can go to the post office and have your mail forwarded to you.
 
I wish it were that simple. I'm going out of the country for 2 weeks. By the time I got the mail got to the destination country I would be on my way back to the US. I guess I'll just call and explain my situation.
