Does anyone know if UIC accepts interfolio? They stress on their application that recs much be on official letterhead, so I wasn't sure... Thanks!

Schools will accept virtualevals or interfolio unless they specifically state that they don't. My advisor is unaware of ANY schools that won't accept these services. Most schools have apps that say "official letterhead", but the letter services are becoming more and more popular, so I have to assume that apps will start to recognize them more readily. I wouldn't worry about it...however, if you do worry about it, this is the type of question that will take 30 seconds to answer with a simple phone call. Don't be afraid to call. I've called 4 offices so far to clarify secondary info. It's not like they blacklist you for calling...

P.S. I'm doing the UIC app today too...this thing is looooooong...

Yes nearly every school will accept your letters from interfolio but are you asking if they will take an electronic submission from interfolio. Those are 2 different questions because while nearly all schools will accept interfolio letters not all will accept the electronic submission of those letters through interfolio, in which case you have to pony up for the extra $1 and have interfolio send them through the mail. I guess this was a really long way of saying that UIC accepts both forms of submissions.

Thanks guys!
Also, Interfolio requests LOR writers to fax/mail/electronically submit their initial letter of recommendation on Letterhead.

If you have letter writers follow this process, whenever you send packets of letters to prospective schools, it will be on letterhead.

Another UIC issue... I just realized that they require 2 intro level bio classes as well as an advanced. First of all, I've only taken 2 bio classes so far (psychology major). I took Principles of Zoology (our intro course) and Comparative Vertebrate Anatomy. I'm currently in Genetics and intend to take Comparative Vertebrate Embryology next semester (both are indicated on my AMCAS). So my questions are 1) My school only offers one intro course in bio, then we jump into advanced. Do I just list the second Bio I took for my second intro course? and 2) For my advanced course requirement, should I just list Genetics and put "in progress" in place of a grade? Thanks 🙂

Ok, um, one more....Sorry! I just started trying to type my courses into the grid, and some of my course titles don't fit... i.e. my inorganic chem labs are called "Investigations in Chemistry" and I can't even fit all of "investigations" in the box before it cuts me off. Anyone else had this problem?

Fill out as much as you can. They'll correct it when they're verfiying.

That or just put Inorganic Chem Lab...its the same thing right? Adcomms are smarter than we are (usually) so if you put something pretty intuitive, you'll be fine.

Speaking of UIC, have the changed the status for everyone else to show the interviews that are available? Or might I actually be making some progress here?

I think you might be making some progress 🙂

still 'in process' here. i guess we could call in, seeing as it's thursday

I'm OOS and had to have an extra letter FedEx-ed last week. I'm 90% sure they haven't looked at my application yet. But give them a call if you're IS :luck:
