nadda. how'd the SIU interview go smile?

I felt like it went well. I also was impressed with the school. Did you interview there?

Nope. I went down there last year to set up a tour since they didn't give out interviews last year. I actually really liked the school. I think the wonderful city of Alton would take some getting used to, but I could really see myself there.

And if you are instate, it is REALLY cheap.

Any recent news from UIC?

nothing...and its really starting to worry me.

Up to now, UIC said that they have received over 1300 application for 64 spots. 😱 Wow! I was also told that reapplying is the norm and this is just a standard part of applying nowadays. :scared:

I thought their class size was closer to 100? For us in-staters, we have to take into consideration how many of those 1300 applicants are out of state, and who would go to another school if selected. So with that 1300, they probably interview roughly 10% (assuming a class size of around 100). That leaves them with 25% more kids than to be attending next fall which leaves room for withdrawls. If it is a class of 65, then they will most likely interview roughly 5% of the applicants, which might explain why I haven't heard anything from them in so long. I'm worried just like you guys/gals, but all we can do is sit and hope for the best..

I got the call for an interview. So excited. Hopefully you guys did too.

Congratulations. UIC is fantastic. Only four others interviewed when I was there, make sure to have lots of questions for the students during the lunch/tour.

Good luck.

I just got invited for an interview today. UIC is my top choice, so needless to say, I am very excited.

Hey congrats, that great news! Can I ask when you sent all your stuff in? I sent all mine July 9th, but my new DAT scores arrived there a few weeks ago. I'm just trying to gauge where they are with my application.

I filed my AADSAS in early/middle June, but I did not get my DAT or LOR's sent until early/middle August. My DAT and LOR's were expressed mailed, so I'm certain that they were received early/middle August as well.

From what I've heard, UIC does interviews and what not a little later than others. So continue to be patient and hopefully it all will work out.
