Ugh, yep I'm guessing that its rejection letters coming...oh well, if they dont like me, at least I can respect them for not keeping me around until March or so, then rejecting me. Now I can move on, and start the mourning/healing process...🙁

Maybe it's a waitlist? I wouldn't put it in the rejct pile on your MdApps yet.

I do appreciate the optimism, but I dont want to get my hopes up...UIC was one of my top choices, and the wording of the update is "a final decision has been made", which is none too encouraging. I know my status updated to this on Friday morning- is this when everyone's status changed?

It usually only takes 3 days for mail to get from my house to Chitown, and I dont want to call and bug my mom every day about checking the mail for me- I just wish I knew already! Or at least knew when to expect it in the mail!

Just got the interview offer status change! I was complete at the end of August and have been under review for the past two weeks or so.

Well, in case anyone else is curious....the final decision message a few of us got changed this morning. It now says "A final decision was made on Oct. 30. Please wait two weeks to get it in the mail before bothering our office", or something to that effect. 🙁

i just checked my status and this is what it says (i interviewed 10/11 in the afternoon...probably saw some of you there!)

"A final decision was made on your application on 10-25-07. Please allow two-weeks to receive the correspondence in the mail. If you do not receive this correspondence in two-weeks, please contact the Admissions Office. No decision will be given over the telephone."

I hope this is good news. I'm dying to get that letter.

Honestly people, I think we can establish that if you get this message, just like last year, you're in (congrats!).

I suggest we try not to post about receiving this message change post-interview anymore...unless it counters what I'm saying and somebody receives a rejection after the change. I'm fine with celebrating on here after receiving the big white envelope, and don't mean to attack your post personally, but you've got to be the fourth or fifth person to post something along the lines of "My status has changed to a decision has been made on ___ after I interviewed on ___. I'm so nervous!" 😀

Read above, it sounds like you're in! I interviewed on the 11th as well (I was the tall guy). Were you in the am session?

When this status change was originally brought up on the thread, it was because some of us got it THAT HAVE NOT INTERVIEWED. I'm mostly keeping this up to date since I'm sure there will be others down the road who get it without being interviewed first. I promise, I wont put anything else up here until I find out if it is a confirmed rejection or some kind of hold...and do I really need to type on here that I'm really rooting for a hold?!?!

Nope I was in the afternoon session, but I do remember you because I believe you asked how friendly UIC was to students with families.

You might have remembered me as the guy who took notes during the dean's message. Haha I felt self-conscious busting out my notepad but I had to do it so that I can refer to things later.

Regarding the status, I apologize for re-treading old waters. I just wanted input from others, that's all.

Post wasn't really directed at your type of situation...that's informative. I just didn't really like the precedent that was developing of a person essentially posting twice that they got in. It's fine that the first few people did it, I was just making the suggestion to save some redundancy, i.e. that congratulations are due once that message is received post-interview, unless I'm proved wrong and this year is different.

Nice, at least you weren't the one person who sat in the front row

is it just me or does everyone else also hate the "routine maintenance" page that pops up on Tuesdays and Thursdays? It happens every week but I never learn!

Hey all. I just scheduled my interview for UIC today (PM interview at Peoria). I'm trying to book my plane ticket and was just wondering if anyone who has had a PM interview could give me a rough itinerary of the day, specifically when does it end? Thanks!

i interviewed in peoria, and the day was pretty low-key. unfortunately, i've already tossed the itinerary. But pretty much we had a welcome and (very brief, no one had questions) Q&A with a Dean. that was maybe thirty minutes, during which she also went through the financial aid booklet. we had the student tour which took maybe 20 minutes and then the 2:1 interviews (closed file) with one admin/professor and one student.

If i'm not mistaken the afternoon interview schedule is 1-4pm. I was in the first interview batch and I was headed home by 2:45pm.

I'll have an interview at SIU as soon as my LORs arrive.

you'll love it there

Also, I wanted to add to the thread that my status changed from "..application" to "..applicant" over the weekend.

I got that message too. 🙁

I'm a little irritated b/c I also applied to the RMED program, but they don't start reviewing the applications until Dec. 1. I e-mailed RMED to see if they could at least keep me on hold if I do in fact get a rejection letter.

My stats are a little lower than "average" 26/3.5 but I have a lot of killer ECs going for me, and the RMED program is what I'm really interested in.

Bummer.

Oh well, I do have one acceptance, and I'll have an interview at SIU as soon as my LORs arrive.

The RMED program was exactly what I wanted as well, sad that I am probably getting rejected before even being considered for that....sigh. Oh, well, it just wasnt meant to be!

FYI...I just called to verify that I was being considered as an IL state resident because I applied last year with MI residency.

I was told my application was out for review. She said it can take up to 1 month to review but in most cases it is sooner. I was also told that they do send rejections out monthly...pre-interview. So they may chose to invite you to interview, review your application again, or reject.

what status do you get when you sign in online?

I was one of the people who get the "final decision has been made..." without being offered an interview. I received the letter today and it was a rejection...sorry to drain the hopes of all you who wanted the wait list. So much for UIC...

I'm worried because I only have a 29 MCAT (9, 10, 10)! On the plus side on a non-trad...but other than that I don't have a stand out application.

I have a 29 MCAT also....on the other hand I had everything else going for me...In state, high GPA, As in psych, good ECs and LORs, and got it in really early, so I don't know what happened

Mine still says application in progress - /crosses fingers!

I have been on Applicant in Process for a long time, at least a month, maybe closer to 6 weeks. Hoping for that interview.

I'd give them a call on thursday for a status check.

I interviewed on 10/29 and my status just changed from "Interview scheduled for 10/29 - Evaluation not complete" to "Decision pending".

I hope this just means they've received all the feedback from my interviewers and I'm waiting for the adcom to meet...

yeah i had the same change today. I know they meet on the the 3rd or 4th Thursday each month. I'm hoping they'll meet before Thanksgiving, but since the office said I should hear something early December, it'll probably be on 11/29.

I got this letter, too. Then I contacted UIC and the RMED program and was put back in the pile for the RMED program. So if they (RMED) invite me to interview I'm still in the game at UIC.

*whew* for now.

Wow, big WHEW! I toured the RMED program last semester, and it seemed that if they like you, they make a pretty strong case for you to the admissions committee in Chicago. Good luck!!!

What's the RMED program?

Rural Medicine...It's pretty good

I called last Thursday and the lady said she expects this batch of applications back soon so she said I should keep checking the status page and something should change this week. For some of us waiting around, status might just change pretty soon, for better or for worse...

great info. thanks!

So did anyone's status change this week?

almost two months of waiting and still haven't been reviewed yet 😕...starting to lose patience...

I called for a status check yesterday and the woman said that being under review was a 4-6 week process...which contradicts earlier posts that it was a 2 week process. She then said that I should hear something by next week, though, which would be week 4 for me under review. (Knock on wood) :luck:. I recommend you call for a status check on Thursday...they've been very helpful every time I've done it.

interesting...the man i spoke to yest. said it takes 6-8 weeks after being complete to go under review---> "applicant in process", its been 7 weeks for me and still "application in process." Bond, are you saying it takes another 4-6 weeks to hear something after you are sent to be reviewed 😱?? This waiting is killing me...

did anyone get a rejection without a status change? they said they sent me a letter but the page hasn't changed from application in process

I'm confused. I started as applicant in process and still am that (complete 4 weeks ago). So do I have to go to application in progress then back to applicant in process and then wait 6-8 weeks?

Anyone? UIC is my top choice so I am curious about the wait.

It's in the thread somewhere.. Someone called and figured out that it switches back and forth between the two depending.. just read back a couple posts

No. I think we just got different answers from two different people about how long it takes them to review your application when they first tell you it's under review. Again to the people above here, if you're at all confused, just wait till thursday and call for a status check. They'll be very clear about whether your file is currently being reviewed or not.

Did any of you guys interview at Rockford? How was is?
