Anyone here apply or graduate from UIC (University Illinois at Chicago) PharmD program. If so, how was the program? How competitive is it to get into their Pharmacy School? How is the PCAT rated in the admission process? Please give info and hints on applying.

Thanks

RonP

I considered applying, but when the person who I spoke to on the phone said that UIC will not give out ANY stats regarding average GPA, PCAT, etc, I got suspicious (and they were rude). They are pretty competitive, and I think they're generally regarded as one of the top 5 or 10 programs in the country. I'd say that IL residents have priority for admissions, although I'm not sure how many out of state they took. I know someone who's starting there this fall. She applied to 10 schools, and was accepted at all 10, including UIC and Purdue, among others. In the end, she chose UIC, although she's having a hard time finding housing for a "reasonable" price. I can let you know more once she starts (the 25th, I think).

Hey thanks for the info on UIC JDPharmd. The info is greatly appreciated. If you can keep me informed on your friends progress at UIC. Yeah housing is going to cost an arm and a leg here in the area. The university is right downtown and it's extremely expensive to live. Unless you have a roomate or two.
