Hey does anyone have any information about UIWSO's curriculum? I remember some of the classes Mr. Cantu talked about during the interview but I was wondering if their was an actual class/curriculum list floating around.
Basic & Intermediate Optometry course sequence (fundamental theory and technical skills of optometric examination and history taking)
Optics (Principal, geometric, visual and applied) course series..
Basic Sciences with clinical emphasis: Clinical gross, ocular and neuro-anatomy, Histology, Clinical human Physiology, Histopathology, Immunology and ocular biochemistry/molecular biology.
Vision Science
Orientation to patient care, ethics and healthcare systems
Twelve-month of rigorous involvement in patient care (rotations in the following services: adult primary, pediatrics, contact lens, low vision rehabilitation, vision therapy and advanced disease)
Further studies in advanced clinical and practice management
Clinical Internship & Externship rotation at clinical facilities such as private practices, referral centers, veterans affairs medical centers, and optometric clinics in military installations.
