When does the interview day end for MD applicants? For those who drive from Boston, how long did it take you to then drive back into Boston from Worcester?

When does the interview day end for MD applicants? For those who drive from Boston, how long did it take you to then drive back into Boston from Worcester?

I haven't done my interview yet, but plan on about 1 hr for the drive from Worcester to Boston. Could be shorter or longer by 15 minutes depending on traffic and your driving style...

Depends on if you're morning or afternoon. I was in the morning session, and I was done around 1:00. Afternoon interviews will go later. Driving back into Boston, it took me about an hour, but again, I was driving relatively early in the afternoon and missed all that fun rush hour traffic. And I didn't have to drive into downtown, so that might have had something to do with it... 😉 Good luck!!

DEFINITELY give yourself more than an hour and 15 minutes. Traffic can be a problem at times, you never know when something will be backed up, and you just do NOT need the stress of running late. BTW, if you're coming on 290 get off at the exit that says it takes you to UMass Medical center; if you end up on Rte. 9 in Worcester (Highland/Belmont St. depending on where you are) for any distance, it will take forever due to the ridiculous number of traffic lights that are poorly timed, plus the volume of traffic on this road. I should know; I am at a local university where we do basically a senior thesis project, and I am doing mine at UMass. The commute each afternoon stinks, even though mileage wise it is short. And - speaking of UMASS - has anyone heard post-interview from them? Does anyone remember when they said they'd get back to us?

I surely do love that UMass and am eager to hear back...

They never gave us a timeframe - just that we'll hear from them before May - but that doesn't keep me from checking the mail with eager anticipation each and every day...

It can take a long time. I'm a first-year at UMass, and I waited 3 months for any kind of response.

Anyone applying to UMass can feel free to PM me with questions about applying, the school, etc. I love it here at UMass, so I have no problems running some free PR for the school.

I had afternoon interviews, and the second was off-campus. I was done by 4:15, and I think I was among the last to be done.

me too. And even worse - checking MD applicants to see if anyone got in. One guy is posting an acceptance... lucky bastard!

seriously... I had the first interview day and have yet to hear anything, even though at the interview they said we would hear in two weeks. Suuuure... 😉 However I do know someone who has been accepted into the MD/PhD program so I know they've been making decisions. Here's hoping some news will come soon!
