For the "Choose 4 of 7 prompts" UMass Secondary, I am wondering how I should choose the prompts I will write about. I am a stats/research heavy applicant, and my application's greatest weakness is my clinical experience. I have some, but not nearly as much as many applicants whereas my stats are elite and my research experience highly extensive at this point.
As such, I am thinking of targeting the prompts that will potentially cover my weaknesses because they showcase the traits adcoms want to see applicants develop through clinical experience, or traits that many research/stats heavy applicants may struggle with. Plus, even though UMass is my state school, it is obviously more centered on primary care so I tried to keep this in mind as a research-oriented applicant. Thus, I am thinking of writing for Empathy/Compassion, Advocacy/Cultural Competence, Teamwork, and Persistence/Grit. I am therefore not answering Inquiry, Leadership, or Communication.
However, I am nervous that this is misguided. Should I be writing about what they would expect my strengths to be? I have material for each of these prompts, so I'm not forsaking any wild unique stories for the prompts I feel might cover my "presumed" weaknesses. Thoughts?
