I'm interested in trying out the bioinformatics MS route, and UMDNJ offers an intro course, which sounded pretty good... The weird thing is, it's on-line =P

Even though this web class will require a lot of work and preparation, am I right in thinking that adcoms take actual classes more seriously than virtual ones?

As long as the MS degree is accredited by the respective regional educational board, there should be no problems. The virtual class will cover the same material as the actual physical class and you will be responsible for the mastery regardless you take it over the internet or in class. Ten years ago, adcoms might have cared. But now with the proliferation of virtual education courses at pretty much all the state institutions and prestigious universities like Harvard and Berkley, online learning is a respected method of the dissemination of knowledge.
