I'm on the waitlist... is there any chance that I'll get accepted?

I was waitlisted the last time around and got in this time... So if you don't get in for this session, apply again for the summer and you'll probably have a leg up on the competition.

i got flat out rejected two times in a row so does that mean im a shoe-in for a 3rd shot? lol

im joking, of course, just trying to make light of my SUCKY situation :meanie:

im going to be applying to dental school at that point, so is it even worth taking time out of my DAT studying to do Gateway?

Congrats on getting in! 🙂

Thanks! As of right now, I honestly have no clue, but I'll let ya know in a few months. Maybe someone who has already been in the program can give you a better answer.

okay, thanks! I think that I will probably reapply, and if I get in, I could always say no. 🙂

you won't get in....they reject applicants that are in the midst or getting ready to apply to dental school......they want peopole interested in dentistry not dead set on it

NJDental is right, if you are a current or previous applicant to ANY dental school you are ineligible for the program.

I would be applying to dental schools in May 2009. The application for the summer is due in February 26, 2009. Do you think that they will really know the difference? I mean, I wouldnt have applied/taken the DATs by that time. For all they know I could apply another cycle, right?

Honest answers are appreciated, especially because I dont want to lose another $50 lol 🙂

the housing app says for umdnj students only....if i am not a umdnj student and need housing, how does one go about doing that? do we still hand that form in?

hey guys,

do you think i should bother applying to the program at all? i'm currently a soph. in college, and my gpa is around a 3.3...at this time i don't really have shadowing experience..and the only letter of rec. that i can get is from my research advisor. do you guys think i should still give it a shot, or wait until winter break of my junior year when i'll probably have shadowing experience, more research, and HOPEFULLY a higher gpa? Thanks.

not true..i had several 08 cycle applicants in my group when I did the program last January...unless this has changed since I applied a year and a half ago you can still apply if you are "dead set" on dental school and in the application process

RUPremed...you should definitely give it a shot. I applied with a 3.4, i had no shadowing experience and I had one letter of recommendation from my pre-health adviser. I would recommend during the time you are waiting to hear back from them to start shadowing at least once per week because I think you would get more out of the program if you were more familiar with dentistry.

This is what was told to my friend when she called the office. She had an app in for this cycle and wanted to do this winter gateway program. The best bet is to call the school and get your own answer so you know what is really going on.

I was just curious as to if anyone had applied for this program for the Summer 09 schedule? According to the website, applicants were supposed to receive some sort of e-mail regarding the status of their applications on 3/19.

As of yet, I have not received any sort of information. Has anyone else who applied heard anything? I will try calling the number on the website tomorrow to inquire more.

Just an update, I recieved an e-mail today and I was accepted into the program!

Did anyone else get in for Summer 2009? Anyone have any advice for housing? They sent a housing application form, $500 for a 3-bedroom per student apartment for the 2 week duration. I'm not sure if thats a fair price or not, but if anyone has any alternate suggestions, I'd love to hear them.

hey... how long did they take to contact you guys about your applications? I mailed out all of my things around sept 15 (deadline was sept 24) for the next winter session and still haven't received any type of notifications from them. should i email them or just be patient? Would it have been smarter of me to just apply for the summer session rather than sending out my papers 2 weeks before the winter session deadline?

hello TheFuture88.
The best choice for you will be to call them and find he status of your application. 🙂 Ithink as long the papers got there on time everything will be ok. I hope you got accepted.

So did anyone apply for the 2010 June 1 - June 11 summer session? I know I did 🙂 Anyone else?

That's not true, there is no mention about being a NJ resident on the requirements for admission on the Gateway site.

Next Tuesday you should receive an email whether you've gotten in.

bump bump. did anyone hear back today? in terms of emails on acceptance/rejection.
