Hi everyone!

I got a phone call from University of Maryland Eastern Shore Tuesday setting up an interview for September 11th. I didn't apply for early decision so I'm wondering how I got grouped into an interview this early. I was rejected from the three schools I applied to last year so I'm lucky to get this far already. But I'm wondering what to expect- anyone have an interview with them or as done one with them?

Same, I have one for the 12th and I have no idea what to expect and have not started prepping for interviews as I just got done finishing my supps.

I have an interview too! I'm coming from out of state and having trouble finding transportation from an airport to the campus. Does anyone have recommendations?

I'm going to rent a car I suppose. I'll be in at about 1130 PM on the 11th if you want to carpool. My interview is on the 12th. I'm also leaving the 12th in the early afternoon.

I'm in around 5PM on the 11th, so that doesn't work unfortunately. Thanks for the offer though! I leaving on the 13th. I've been looking into shuttles, but I'll probably end up taking a taxi.

I live in Baltimore but from where I'll be that day when I have to leave it's only about an hour and a half (if bridge traffic isn't bad)

How were the interviews? Did you guys get in, and are you going there? If not where are you going and what we're your stats

Here's my blog post about the interview. I was got a letter in the mail three weeks after the interview and was accepted! You can look at my stats if you go to my profile and search through to find my older posts.

Hello Katie! Thank you so much! I have a skype interview with Ms.Hickman next Wednesday because I couldn't make the time to fly. Reading your blog was very helpful and informative. You will make a great PT ^^

Have they already been contacting applicants for interviews? UMES was one of my first options. And Katie is very helpful! She's helped me throughout my whole application process, basically. Haha. You rule, Katie!

Congrats!!! Ms. Hickman is wonderful and a really sweet lady. She did part of our orientation and I haven't really seen her since, but anyways, you'll do great.

I flew in from California and I had no idea that they did Skype interviews haha

Yeah, UMES starts interviews around September 11-15ish, which is when I had mine last year. I know they start giving acceptances like 2-3 weeks after that, so hopefully you'll hear from them soon!

Several of my classmates were from the waitlist, so don't worry because you haven't heard anything yet!

Just wondering, did you guys that have already heard back from UMES have to send in a transcript and resume directly to the program? Just kind of confused because I thought PTCAS took care of the transcript things and everything I have on my resume is already going to be in my application, so I'm not really sure what they use these for. Thanks for your help!

If it says that on the application, then you need to follow all of the instructions. A lot of the schools I applied to wanted GRE scores, transcripts, and resumes sent directly to their departments, even though I also sent everything to PTCAS. I'm not sure why they don't look them up on PTCAS, but I wouldn't take the gamble with not sending a 100% complete application.

Yeah, you won't hear back for 2-3 weeks, don't worry! I got my acceptance letter via mail, but I'm not sure how they notify about waitlists/rejections.

Thank you, and as many others I read your blog before my interview (UMES was my first) helped a lot with my expectations and gave an insight into the program you can't really get elsewhere.

Glad I could help! I hope you hear back soon, and I'm crossing my fingers that it's good news! 🙂

I interviewed in early November and I still haven't heard back via mail, email, or phone. Does anyone know any other methods in which they might notify us? I guess I'll give them a call on Monday

I called on Wednesday and they said that my group was still being reviewed. My thought is that Thanksgiving break pushed them back a bit.

I interviewed in early November, and I was notified by mail the first week in December. I had started to get a little antsy, having heard about the 2-3 weeks thing, so I called, and the person I spoke to told me they haven't eliminated many at this point 🙂 Sounds like they may just be backed up from the holiday and recent hard application deadline.

When you guys say early november, I assume you mean earlier than the 11/18 and 20 group?

Does anyone know if they are holding more interview dates? I submitted my App a while ago, and heard nothing. I called a few times and the lady at admissions said my App was still being reviewed. I also recently sent my most recent GRE scores, so I hope they consider them.

Yeah, I wouldn't sweat it if you haven't heard back. Some hear back in 2-3 weeks like I did, but my roommate didn't hear back for 2 months.
They were pretty busy with the PA program losing its accreditation because some PT professors also taught classes for the PA program, so they might be a bit behind because of that.
I do know that about 20 have been accepted, because there's a Facebook group already. Don't worry too much, some people will go to other programs. Just call every so often and try to keep your mind on other things!
