Hey guys two part question here.

1. Anyone here do an anesthesia rotation there? How is it? Scutwork isnt turning up much.

2. Is the SICU anesthesia run? Anyone do an SICU rotation there? How was it?

Thanks.

I believe the SICU is run by general surgeons, but I'm not 100% sure.

I don't have specifics but M4 anesthesia rotations usually have good hours. Most report their day ending at around 1pm. (SICU has longer hours)

I did an anesthesiology rotation there, as well as a month in the Thoracic ICU which is run by the anesthesiologists.

I thought both months were good. The residents there are extremely helpful and there are ample opportunities to do procedures during both months. The ICU schedule is not your typical ICU month. You get there around 7am, and you leave anywhere from 1-3pm. Plus for students there are no weekends and call is optional. PM me for more specific questions.
