Hi Sprockette! Thanks for your info. It sounds kinda similar to what I did -I sent an update in early may and another update in late May and also had my final transcript sent there. Your email to Katie didn't sound so helpful so I probably won't do that, at least right now. 30 is a lot of people so far but hopefully they will accept more. I have not sent a letter of intent to umich tho or said it was my absolute first choice - maybe I should tho. Anyways, thanks for the info, oh and I had totally forgotten about the status page-now I think I will check it every now and then!

As for me, I withdrew from Northwestern last week and committed to Michigan. I even found a place to live in Ann Arbor already! Things all fell into place really fast, so now I've just got to work on filling out the paperwork (immunizations, financial aid, etc.)

Oh and I think that classes actually start on 8/20, but I'll check that when I go home tonight...

All you people heading to UM, where are you guys living? I did my undergrad here and will be a first year in Dental school. I'm living with some friends (M1s) down from the hospital in the "med student ghetto". It's actually pretty nice though. Anyways, good luck and I'll prolly see some of you in the fall.

Thanks for all your help Mr. D. Today I clicked the url and it worked. After anxiously checking, it said the same thing as on march 20th when i was placed on the waitlist. For the people on the alternate list, does the status page say what tier you are on?

My status page hasnt changed. The funny thing is that I almost wished that it had. I need closure and I want to find an apartment at my #2 choice. I guess it is kinda sad to say... because I dont want to go through another month of hell for four years of being at my dream medical school. I take that back..... it is worth the wait.

PS - my status page does not say what tier I am on.

MissMedicine - How did you know that the status pages were going to change?

Okay I finally was able to log on after remembering my password. This tuesday Katie emailed me telling me I got accepted to UMIch!!!!! I am so happy and excited but now I just have to figure out how to do this housing stuff while I am still at home (out of state). Anyways, for your info, I was in tier 2. Good Luck to you all still on the waitlist. My advice is to keep hoping and every now and then either call or write a letter saying you are still interested.

This is so exciting! Have any of you guys been reading the webpage with the bulletin board for members of the incoming class? I think someone is trying to organize a canoeing excursion in a couple weeks. Are any of you going to that?

Thanks punkin and sprokette! I have been on the web page for incoming students about two times but never read about the canoing trip. That sound fun tho. Also, does anyone know if the medical center apts or island drive apts have garages or if they just have parking spots outside? Thanks!
