My fellow future dentists,

Has anyone else had the feeling that they "should" go to one of their accepted schools but "want" to go to another? For example, I have intensions of specializing. Therefore, UMKC (should go) may be a better choice since they do better on boards. However, Ohio State (want to go) has good facilities and is in a cooler city (in my opinion). Likewise, I have found that Ohio state students are slightly more "enthusiastic" about dentistry making a more relaxed and fun environment.

Regardless, I am very excited to join the rest of you in finally becoming what we've wanted to become for so long!

to be honest with you i think that you "should" go to ohio state...they had a 100% board pass rate of NBDE I this past year. I am debating between ohio state and kentucky so I am in the same boat

I... Errmmm... would tell you to go Ohio state, because I am on the wait list for UMKC... But then my answer is a bit biased... 😛 I don't know about Ohio State, but I have only applied to UMKC...

I wish I knew more about kentucky actually, I applied to them 2 years in a row and both times they rejected me immediately. I think they find my application checks to be tasty or something cause they want me to keep sending them without acceptances in return.

4honor, I hope you get into UMKC. It is certainly a worthy school to be. Are you a missouri resident? I find it funny how on www.predents.com , UMKC is like 10th for GPA and 49th for DAT.

I will be at UMKC - I think it's great and the students seem pretty high on the school, but then again, I live here and it was my only acceptance!

Good luck with your decision!

4honor, are you a missouri resident?
Yes I am, but my credentials are not competitive enough to get in. I was told to just try again, even though I will be going through the second round again. Unless the second rounders have 2.5 GPA and 15 DAT, no shadowing or volunteering hours, I will have to wait another year. 🙁
