I got the call 10 days after my application was complete. good luck:xf:

hi whatdo you mean by a good or a bad school. we as a foreign dentist must try to get into any dental school as soon as possible so as to be able to get licence and start practicing and also where the program is the shortest and you see umn has 2 year program and no bench test. So it is also one of the best school .

If u just want a licence why not try minnesota state board of dentistry directly..they give a LLC even with ur BDS/ any other foreign degree.

i think quality of education, patient flow, living conditions also play a role..

U r right abt UMN not having a bench test and being preferred for that.

Hi hydhaval.i guess you and I gave our part 2 on the same day,june 16 and scored the same too,77.my app was complete on the 6 or 7 of july and got a call day before for the interview.I did 4 yrs of private practise and dental assistant for a couple of months. i am not keeping my hopes with u of mn as last yr i applied and was rejected. I was really upset as i personally liked the school.few students,good pt flow and good training.

wat does our applicatipon is complete means? i got a mail form UMN on july 10th that they received my application and it is complete. so is that means application is complete?Plz throw some light on this.

they didn't mention any reason, i don't have much experience so that might be the reason, this is my guess though........good luck to you
 
UMN rejected me (without interview) too !

Are they done with the interview process?
Or are applicants still getting interview calls?

My application was complete in mid June. My Stats are :
Part 1 : 85/102/3.29 and about 5 years of clinical experience.

got rejected at UMN without an interview.

My stats are part 1 - 90 , toefl -102, gpa - 3.2 , 1 yr of work experience , 6 months of observorship, volunteer work .

Hey Friends .....
Came back from UMN interview last night. It was nice ... but tiring ...non stop sessions , one after another .... too much info given about Miinesota & university to hold in my tiny brain. BUT overall it was very informative, awakening & motivating.

They will hold several more sessions of interview in near future ..... and would continue atleast till d deadline (15 Nov). They'll have a meeting on 8 October & probably decide on our fate at that time.
All d best to people who r gona appear for interview next. Relax & all d best.
Keeping my fingers crossed about d result

There were 4 of us - 2 guys , 2 gals - 3 of us were Indian & 1 guy was from Burma.
Started wid talks wid Janet who was very sweet & helpful ..... & that got rid of early jitters. We had 3 interviews wid 3 diff faculty members, one of which was common for all .... our Dr Berthold. He was nice & simple & so down to earth. He told us lots about his personal experiences wid PASS programs. Then we had a tour of school wid a 4th year student and again had session wid Dr Berthold.
In d end there was a small discussion about finance & loan.

Dr Berthold also gave a picture of how they select or reject a student .... something that no one else does. So d whole procedure became quite clear. they asked us to bring all official documents , I have one q that those who already gave interview over there plz tell me that do we need to bring NBDE and TOEFL score in sealed envelope or its ok if we bring what we have which is not in sealed envelope..
Do we need to submit it there?
plz let me know

Yes, I did get an official invitation containing the schedule, another attachment with directions, hotels etc.
Nope, they don't ask you to get sealed scores nor submit them there.
I couldn't get my scores in time so asked Ms Janet regarding it. She told me"you are fine, since you have sent a notarized copy of the NB-1 scores along with the application"

Clear your doubt with her before you attend the iv.
 
hi guys my stats are-
nbde part 1 (dec 2008) - 86
degrees - BDS, MDS (orthodontics) - india
exp - 1.5 yrs as a consultant orthodontist
gpa- 3.1 ; toefl - 114
have applied to umn but not heard anything from them as yet so am a lil concerned if they are already done with their interviews
