Unable to find shadowing for DO

I would like to shadow a DO physician this summer and use that experience to guide my applications and IIs this cycle. However, it is proving to be very difficult to find a DO that will let me shadow them. I called around 70 DO offices in my area (almost everything from this website: Find Your DO - Doctors That DO | Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine). But the answer is always either "we'll get back to you" and they never do, or "we don't accept shadowing." I've been trying for the past month.

I don't remember it being this hard to find shadowing a few years ago...how is everyone finding opportunities? Is there anything else I can try to shadow a DO?

Have you tried going through a hospital? I tried calling DO offices directly and didn't have any luck but when I went through the hospital and asked to shadow a physician they had me fill out some paperwork and helped me get set up with one of their DO's.

This should probably be moved to the 'Pre-Medical - DO' thread, but what specialty DO are you looking for? Finding IM/FM DOs shouldn't be too difficult or go through a hospital as mentioned above.
