Did you? 😀
I found out 1 week to the day before my interview. Don't stress. They send you an email telling you to call and set up a time.
I work with a first-year student at UNC who is helping out with interviews on the 14th of January. I haven't heard anything yet....hopefully today!

Email. 🙂 Good luck!!
Thanks b*rizzle.b*rizzle said:Email. 🙂 Good luck!!
I really liked UT, but my husband has to find a job wherever we go, and I'd glady put down a deposit on both schools to give him more leverage on locations to find jobs... And UNC is a lot closer to home than Memphis 🙂
If I get accepted at both shcools it will be his decision. I know I'd be happy at either place.
I know they have high preference for instate students, but UK invited me, which is also out of state for me, so I think I have a shot at UNC ...maybe
Waiting just sucks. Congratulations. I know I would be freaking out if I had only applied to one school like you did. I'm glad you got in 😛DHG said:Thanks b*rizzle.

Thanks! 👍 Keep your chin up, I'm sure you'll be fine. UK is tough to get into also, so no worries. I think you'll be just fine!

Yeah, I just got an email too 😀 Personally, I don't mind that they've waited till the last minute as I've known about that interview date for several weeks and had figured I was going to get passed up for this one as well. Nothing like a very pleasant surprise to start the week.
Last I heard they had two sessions planned for Jan. and another for Feb, so there's still lots of time left for you. Good luck on getting one yourself!
Congrats y'all! Don't stress, it's a very laid-back process. I hope I get to see you guys in the fall! It would be great to already know some people in my class; all of my friends applied last year.DHG said:Woo-hoo, I got one too! 👍![]()
FYI, they seem to be running a little slow on things. I haven't received my acceptance letter yet, though they were supposedly sent on the 3rd. How about you, PharmEng?

Haven't receive my acceptance letter either.

I don't.cwindo said:Just wondering if UNC only invites the in-state students at this time? Do you all live in NC?

I just added them to my signiture because people keep asking. Maybe everyone would do this... Seems more common in the dental and Medical forums. But here you go:shirlee24 said:since they seem to evaluate the applications based on gpa, to those that have been invited to the next interview, can you please share your gpa and pcat score so i know where they are?
good luck on your interviews!

For those interviewing Sat: Is UNC your first choice?
It will be if I can get in-state tuition after the first year...
My husband will be working in NC, paying income tax there... and we also own land in NC that we have been paying property taxes on for the last 10 years... I know that's not enough to get in-state the first year, but I hope to be eligible for years 2-4. Do you know anything about this? If the tuition were the same as UT, UNC would have the edge. Right now they are tied. We'll see what kind of impression the interview makes.

The UNC interview was very relaxed. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

I imagine they may interview a few more after the 28th on an as-needed basis. I'm not sure how many people have been (or will be) at each interview session, but the entering class for 2010 is supposed to increase in size by 10 people, or so I hear. There were only like 16 or 20 people at mine (Nov 18th).
And I still haven't gotten my acceptance packet yet!
I know I never said that I had an interview this week at UNC, but I did and it went extremely well. The staff and students made the interview process feel like a piece of cake from the beginning, it was wonderful. I won't lie and say that I wasn't a bit nervous, but I think they understood that and asked questions to help break the ice. I am crossing my fingers until the end of February/beginning of March...at that moment I'll know how well the interview really went!
DHG said:Hey b*rizzle, how did they let you know you were accepted? email or mail or phone?
I liked the school a lot, BTW. Interview was a breeze. Very conversational. 👍
They sent us an email saying they'd get the packets out when the office opened back up on Jan 3. I still haven't gotten my letter. I'll probably call on Tuesday to find out what gives.
And that's exactly how my interview was! Congrats, glad it went well for you!

Do you know for sure they will have more interviews? I'm getting kinda worried.
They did tell me they would have more but didn't say exactly how many.I had my interview at UNC yesterday, and my student interviewer told me that you can apply for in-state at anytime as long as you have an existing NC address for 12 months (consec.) that is not related to the school. So if you have land there or whatever, you may be able to get in-state tuition for your py-1 year, and if not then definetly for year 2. Hope this helps!!

I finally got my acceptance packet from UNC on Saturday. The letter was dated Jan 12.
There was a morning session at 9:15 and an afternoon session at 12:15. I think the count was about 30-40 people, but then again there could have been more. I was there for the afternoon session. I couldn't tell you how many were there for the morning session.

I was at the morning one. I think there were about 30 people there in my group. You may have seen me leaving as you were coming in... I snaged a cinnamon bun and was munching on it as I was walking outKrazykew1 said:Which session did you attend DHG?

Yes, I believe they have one more interview session. I know some of my classmates that are signed up to be guides at the next session. I don't know of any after january bc that was the latest to sign up for, but maybe its as needed, as others have mentioned.
n0estoy said:there's actually a very brief tour, but you don't see much.
That's because it's a tour of the SOP and not of the campus, like the OP asked.
From what I gathered during my interview in November the "tour" was not an official part of the interview. There was about a 45 minute gap in between the end of the info session and the start of my first interview. Therefore, we requested that the P1 student who was designated to escort us to our interviews give us a short tour during that time. Although, I do seem to recall at the very end that the Adcomm chair offered to give people tours after the wrap-up meeting as well. Once again, this was just of the SOP though, and not the whole campus.
