and for the record, I want to specialize, most likely in OMF surgery.
they're both solid schools. Are you a Maryland or NC resident? Go to the school in which you have residency established. You'll save a boatload of cash. You'll get into OMFS residency if you bust your balls, not if you go to UNC or UMB.
Best of luck,
Hup
whatever.......
Im gettin tired of reading Hup's bad advice.
Man go wherever you want, who cares, if you really have to ask people this question on an internet chat room then my god how will you ever make real decisions in life....

isn't UMB a state school?? you'll be able to get state tuition no matter where you go.
if you need to know facts, visit the schools again and talk to their students or look at their websites rather than ask for other people's (most who don't even know what they're talking about) subjective views on an online forum.
there are so many of these x school vs. y school vs. z school threads, i don't get why people keep creating them. its the next 4 years of YOUR life, don't be an idiot. you're "honestly" tired of UNC from first-hand experience? then gtfo? forget what you've heard about UMB, you haven't experienced it for yourself. plus you can specialize from any school.
isn't that hard, champ.
