UNC vs. Emory

UNC hands down. I really didn't like Emory when I visited and UNC seems very cool.

I was very impressed with Emory, except for the fact that there are letter grades. I can't speak to UNC, but I felt Emory was on the rise and really cared about their students. 👍

Consider that u may get a better clinical experience at Emory because its in a major city. Its affiliated with Grady, a large city hospital which receives a huge spectrum of patients. It also has several other affiliated hospitals including a childrens hospital on campus. If research interests you the CDC is there. I think Emory has a better location for these reasons and just because Atlanta is a more happening city than chapel hill. Emory' grading system sucks. ABC. I don't know what UNC has. Emory has brand new facilities starting in 07.

UNC hands down no qurestions asked or reservations about it...if I had to make a choice.


UNC is P/F in the first year at least and it seems like they are on H/P/F for the 2nd year and then H/HP/P/F (or some variation) for the clinical years.

For mere quality of life issues it would be UNC. In addition to the academic factors.

I can't say much about UNC, as I didn't apply. I really like Emory, however, and I'm definitely considering going. The grading scale kind of sucks, but I'm not really that concerned about it. I agree basically with everything peezyweezy said.

On the other hand, if I was from NC, I'd probably go to UNC. Can't beat in-state tuition for such a great school!
