Is anyone else still waiting for their financial aid package from UNC? I have no idea how much I am getting or paying because they keep saying that my award hasnt been processed yet. Are there any nonresidents that can PM me about their financial aid package because I wanted to know what loans they offered to cover the full amount.

Also, do you think its worth it to get the extra insurance on the laptop? The deductible is high and I am wondering if I will damage it that much to go above the 250 and get my moneys worth in the end.

Cant wait to meet all of you. Take care and enjoy the rest of your summer. 🙂

To make a long story short, you will/should get plenty of money to cover not only your tuition/fees but also you living costs as well.

I would definitely recommend the insurance on the laptop. Several of my classmates (going into 4th year now) had theirs irreversibly damaged and got the brand new model for 250 bucks. I highly recommend that.

If you have any other UNC specific questions feel free to PM.

Don't sweat it. I was (am) an out-of-stater. You should get your info soon. Your loans will most likely be dispersed through CFNC so you can set up a profile on cfnc.org. You should have done FASFA already. You can call Carolyn or Tammy at the school if you have questions. There is more than enough loans available and privately through CFI aka CFNC.

Yes, the insurance is worth it. Some people just get bad components sometimes, i.e. bad motherboard, etc. You do not want to have to replace your laptop...it is expensive. Everyone I know gets the insurance, and I know several people who have already had to get their computer worked on...but none of them have been charged. Also, be sure to by your computer of tax-free day in august. I can't remember which day it is but it will save you $150-$200 in taxes.
