undergrad GPA when applying... slightly low, opinions?

I just calculated my GPA for each section and feel like its slightly lower than i would like... for the science section, does it calculate your other science, bio, chem, and physics together?

I am taking my DAT in august and my overall GPA right now is at a 3.05

but a breakdown of my gpa into each section
other science- 3.672
biology- 2.631
english- 3.917
non-science- 3.096
chemistry- 2.571
physics- 3.0



I will hopefully have my biology and chemistry section up a little bit by the end of the summer (taking microbio for 5 credit hours and organic lab for 2 credit hours) My GPA is low in the chem and bio sections because i didnt know i wanted to pursue a degree in the medical field, and i just skated by my freshman year getting Cs in gen chem and bio.... easy classes which i regret now.


Does my GPA seem too low to be applying? What do you guys suggest, besides studying like crazy for the DAT?

It really wouldn't matter whether it's too low or not!
It's too late to go back and fix that now.
So stop worrying about it too much!
Just try to do well in your remaining classes in order to improve ur GPA a little and do well on the DAT.
That's about all you can do! Unless you figure out a way to go back in time and fix that GPA!

Exactly, nailing the DAT is perhaps the only option left to bring up your stats.

i'd say GPA is kind of low, but just look at the websites for the schools to which you are applying. often times they have a "class profile" page which details (among other things) the average GPAs and DATs. averages for most schools are generally around 3.5 GPA with a 19 or 20 on DAT.
