Thank you for your reply. Are publications in undergraduate journals considered in mid- to late-career scientists? I was under the impression that they don't hold as much weight as peer-reviewed publications.

They don't. I think Fencer means it will serve as good practice.

Oh ok that makes sense. Do you think they are still worth doing if you've already published in peer-review journals?

The way I see it*: poster presentation < talk =/< UG publication <<< peer-reviewed publication

*At any level, national recognition trumps local/regional

Any evidence of your research productivity is better than no evidence. No matter how "small" that evidence is.

After you've written it up, you could also discuss with your boss on the project whether it can also be submitted to peer-reviewed journals. If not, this conversation can also inform you what further experiments need to be done for submitting to a peer-reviewed journals. You might be surprised and maybe you only need a month worth of experiments which in that case IMO would be worth doing and then submitting.
