So does pharmacy schools consider the under-grad schools that one attended? I'm nervous because I currently got to a community college. But I'm sure that I can transfer to a top 4-year school next fall, if that matters at all.

Some schools do take in to account the school, but if your grades are good it wont probably matter if you went to community college. Make sure you have good PCAT scores, experience, and good letters of recommendation and you should be fine

There are universities that specifically state that they want the bios, chems, o-chem, anat, physio, physics, ect taken at four year institutions. I noticed it when i was researching schools. Yet its all about how you apply yourself. If you do well in community college courses then show that you have gone above and beyond than a student at a four year institution. Such as starting a club at the CC, or running for office in student gov. Also try to get on a research project!! Remember that if you want it bad, nothing can beat hard work and dedication.

Also rock the PCAT!! You need to prepare at least two months for moderate scores, and at least three to four for excellent scores. I say this because it is difficult to study and go to school at the same time. So if you have a full month with no distractions then i think your golden but then it all depends on ones abilities. Also the amount of knowledge you gained from your pre-reqs.

It definitely looks better to go to a university, but as you can see many have gotten into pharm school out of a community college. Depends on grades too.

Well, I do have a 3.9 and I tutor students in math and physics. I'm also the president of the math club and a participant in the engineering club. But unfortunately, I already took 1 quarter of gen chem and 2 quarters of physics. I don't plan on taking anymore science class until I transfer to the 4-year institution. But since some pharm schools state that they will only take pre-reqs taken at the 4-year schools, will I have to take them again? The school(Berkeley) I'm going to doesn't allow retakes for classes that have been taken with grades >C. And I don't really want to transfer to any other school.

I took both semesters of gen chem and calculus at a community college. I took the other pre-reqs at a university and got into my 1st choice school. I don't think it will be a problem with your GPA. Mine was 1.8 after 3 semesters at the c.college! I brought it up to a 3.2 when I completed my bachelors. So there is hope for many of yalls. I would contact the specific schools you want to go to about the c.college thing, I don't see a problem.

With a 3.9 I wouldnt really worry about which school you went to, that is a really good gpa so you won't get rejected because of that.
