Hi everyone, I have some questions for you all (I know you've probably seen similar ones elsewhere - if you would rather post a link to an appropriate answer than post a response, that's just fine!)

If I retake an undergrad class for a higher grade, do the med schools care? Will it count against me if I don't get an A the first time through?

they consider your entire academic history. they will look at the lower grade, even if you retake it.

i'm sure they care to an extent if you do better, but I don't think it says much if you can get it right the second time around

Would it then be better to withdraw, or will that also act against me?

My grade is probably around a B, not an F, but it's not where I'd like to be, regardless.

Dude, to be honest, I can't believe you would even consider retaking a B. A "B" is not the end of the world. Relax a little.

It's impossible to get into medical school with a B, especially if it's in one of the basic science courses.

Maybe I should retake that B+ I got in English 101 then.

I'm not even sure I'd retake a C. I'd never retake a B. What's the point? A B indicates that you had a pretty good grasp of the material.

Sorry for going off-topic. 🙄

in my opinion, retaking a B would make the adcoms feel that your a bit neurotic and cant handle anything less than an A. i feel that it would be a bad thing to do, but thats just my opinion.

I believe it switched to sarcasm at a certain point.
