My husband and I currently live in Idaho going to school but want to MOVE so that we can establish some residency in a state with a dental school...any of you guys have any suggestions on what undergrad schools to go to in finishing up the science classes ? (preferably schools with science classes you can actually pass?!)

We were thinking of Kentucky or UNLV or even Texas, but I heard getting into the Undergrad schools in texas are tough, even as a transfer student. He basically has only taken chem 105/anat/phys. Please help! This site has been really helpful 😳

If you had a specific state in mind, I'm sure more people could help suggest an undergrad institution in that state.

I love California, there's a lot of dental schools here and a LOT more undergrad institutions.

is idaho not involved in that program where you can get in-state tuiton at a school?

i think it is called WICHE (Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education).

basically a group of states have an agreement to treat him as an in-state student... because every state doesn't have the population to support every program.

a similar agreement exists between alabama and georgia when it comes to nuclear engineering. there is no nuclear engineering program in the state of alabama, so an alabama resident can get in-state tuition at georgia tech.

i don't know which states are part of WICHE... but definitely do a search for it or ask about it on here.

also, if you are concerned about stats, i think west virginia and tennessee have RELATIVELY low requirements (still not easy)

We were just seeing if anyone went to maybe UNLV or U of Texas or even Louisville/U of Kentucky for their undergrad and had a good experience at those schools with those science classes they had to take. I think being from Idaho is a major disadvantage, even with the WICHE. Anyone go to those schools for undergrad???
