I have been blessed by my PI who is allowing me to take a graduate course (3units) taught by him. I am planning to take the MCAT in May and apply to med schools in the summer. I will be studying for the MCAT with a 13 units this Spring semester. My professor now asked me to register for the 3 unit grad course. So I'll have 16 units for this semester and will be studying for the MCAT.

Do you guys think this is a good idea? To take a grad course before I apply so it looks good. The course is based on my current research (including computational research skills).

I personally think that it's a great oppurtunity but I would love to here some pros and cons about taking a grad course.

I wouldn't do it solely for it "looking good" or anything because I doubt it would really affect admissions much. But make sure it doesn't hurt your GPA or your MCAT studying too much though. But from my experience at my school, most graduate classes, where undergrads are able to take, (especially seminars) are usually great experiences.

Well it will help my research skills and that's the main reason I wish to register for the class. The class is 2 hours per week so I don'tthink it will take too much time out. Hopefully, I can manage my time and still be able to stusy for the mcat. Thank you for all the replies.

Some grad classes are fairly fluffy (I was once a grad student in the hard sciences). You should be able to gauge the time commitment based on course description/requirements. If it will subtract significantly from MCAT study time, I may advise forgoing it.
