I searched and couldn't find an answer to my question. Basically I wanted to know if taking web classes that will say "web" after the course title on the official transcript will be looked down upon compared to a traditional classroom styled class? The classes I'm interested in (4 of them) are offered through a prestigious 4 year university. The classes I'm looking at are not part of the necessary pre-requites for med school. Thanks!

I took them at my university. They were labeled as "Independent Study" but all course work was submitted online, although I had to come in for tests. I took art history online and child development online and the medical school I was accepted to didnt differentiate.

Hope that helps

Online courses are generally not a good idea. Is that what you're referring to? Med schools and other post-grad programs view them as cop-outs. They are generally considered even less rigorous than are CC courses, no matter how prestigious the underlying school.

Are you talking about science classes or what. I have taken some online classes but its offered from my school and on my transcript it doesn't say it was taken online.

But I only took BS classes online

1. History of Snowboarding
2. Regional Studies of NC
3. Spanish I and II
4. Quakerism

3 out of 4 would be easy but interesting courses. But I was looking at Statistics online. The rest of my 100+ credits are in the traditional classroom so far. No science courses will be done online. Are online classes calculated the same in ACMAS? Reason I ask is because I am a RN and I have the choice to do a couple of my RN-BSN courses online.
