Congrats to all those who made the ASA list! It is a huge accomplishment considering how many applications UNECOM receives each year. I thought this forum would be a good place for us to all update each other as the process goes on. At least this way we will know if the list is moving!

Good idea. It is nice to know I'm not in this boat alone.

I have a dumb question. What is an ASA list?

It is the Accept Space Available List. Basically it is a wait list except people placed on the ASA list have the option to carry their acceptance over to the following year (2015) if not offered acceptance for 2014.

Wow, very cool. Thank you! UNE is my top choice and I didn't realize this was a thing. Do they have a wait list as well, or does the ASA list completely replace that? And you're guaranteed a spot in 2015 if you accept?

Did you guys receive ASA after or before your interview?

I don't believe there is any other waitlist. I think they just put people on the ASA list and then in May they rank people into 4 tiers and then they pull people based on those ranks. And yes it does come with a guaranteed spot in 2015 if you aren't pulled from the list this year.

For those of you wondering.. I inquired about the ASA list today and asked if the class was completely full. Apparently there are a few spots reserved in the class for extremely exceptional students, but basically the class is complete full at this point. I was told that in May all those students on the ASA list will be ranked into 4 tiers and then they will pull students from there.

Anyone know the process for those not accepted off the list this year but who want to attend next year? I read in an old thread that you must submit a new aacomas and a letter of intent, but I have yet to confirm this.

I asked this question of them this morning. They said for those on the ASA list not offered a spot for 2014, the acceptance automatically carries to 2015. When 2014 entering class matriculates in late July, people who chose to have acceptances carried over are asked to confirm and official letters of acceptance for 2015 are sent to them.

Thanks! That is easy enough!

I really hope that the roll over acceptance is truly as simple as accepting a seat once 2014 matriculates. It would be great to never have to go through the application process ever again. Congrats everyone!

If this is the case, I guess all school should have an ASA list...

Hey Everyone! I emailed Lisa Lane to get some more information on the roll over acceptance and this is what she said " Yes, the offer of acceptance automatically carries over to 2015. Those applicants on the ASA list who are not offered a seat for 2014 by the time the class matriculates at the end of July and who have indicated that an interest in attending in 2015 will be sent official letters of acceptance by late-summer. Your initial deposit to secure your seat in the class of 2015 will be due by December 15th. "

So it is good to know this isn't to good to be true!

This is crazy. Thank you for the info. I'm so excited now. Going to kill my interview.

Hello! I am also in this boat and a Maine native so Im really hoping!! What did you all think about the facilities at the interview compared to the other schools you have seen? Also, is there anybody else that would prefer to get in next year? Now that it was brought to my attention it sounds pretty appealing to be into a school and not stress about things for a whole year before the most stressful years of my life!!

I'd also prefer to start in 2015, so my husband can have some time to figure out his work situation (i.e., talk to his software company about working remotely or look for a more local opportunity in Maine.) I'm sure if we have good reasons, the UNECOM administration will let us defer for a year.

I'm in the same boat. My soon to be husband needs to figure out his work situation as well. However, I'm so ready to go back to school I will go whenever they want me!!

Just got the email letting me know I'm in the ASA list! So, this really means I'm guaranteed a spot for next year, if not this year? I'm so excited! UNECOM is my first choice and I'd be thrilled to go there.

How long did it take for you guys to receive the decision?

Any movement yet? I talked to a first year that said their was movement the last week of March last cycle! Was hoping for the same this cycle!

haven't heard anything either

Post interview waiting. Nervous about decision. Whichever is sent out by snail mail right? Or email? Anyone knows

How were your guys stats?
Mine 3.81 sGPA cGPA 26 on mCAT OOS. 2 years research. 3 years science tutor. Lots of non-clinical volunteering. Few clinical here and there. You should Apply!! Everyone in Maine is super nice.

Anyone in the ASA list going to Osteoblast? I'm going tomorrow with my parents and gf, figured I'd ask considering I'm mostly only seeing people who were accepted for this year going and was wondering if I'm going to be alone.

I'm going too, don't worry we are accepted just not for this year yet!

Congrats!!
Any know if there is an option to stay on the list and matriculate 2015?
I know it sounds ridiculous but a year off would be nice for me

I would honestly email Lisa Lane and ask. I don't see why it couldn't be an option.

I interviewed late Feb. Hope I get pulled as well! I went to Osteoblast this past weekend and was got even more excited about UNE. How did you find out you got pulled Cerium? Phone call or email?

I did as well but I'm not sure how the ranking works! Which quartile is the best and which is the worst?

I did as well, indicating that I was in the fourth quartile of the list - I'm guessing this means I'm in the bottom 25% of the list.

I'm wondering how big the list is? For spots to be offered for next year the list can't be that long. Right?

Anyone have an idea of how the quartile ranks work? And how they pull from the list?
