UNECOM ASA List 2014

I hope so. I also got the email saying I was in the fourth quartile. I had a feeling fourth quartile was the worst upon reading it. Anyone email her and find out? Also, to the person asking how Osteoblast was, I had a blast. I got to ask lots of questions and picked the brain of several first year students!

Thanks! Too bad I couldn't make it! And I also thought upon reading the email that fourth quartile was the worst, but depending on how it's interpreted fourth quartile could mean ahead of 75% of people on the list or in the bottom 25% of the list!
 
I was told I am "in the top 30th percentile of the list" and that there are 30 people in front of me. As I remember from my MCAT score, the 30th percentile isn't a good thing.

How were you told that? Did you email Lisa? Were you given a quartile as well? After reading online I thought 4th quartile was a good thing, but I am no longer sure lol. I had no idea there were THAT many people on the ASA list...if what you said is true, they can possibly fill up a bit less than half the 2019 class from that list alone. That's a crazy number of people on the ASA list!

I still have no idea what the quartile system means, however if Nazgul is in the 30th percentile and there are 30 people ahead of him/her that means there is a total of about 42-43 people on the list. That is a ton of people to fill up next year's entering class if all listers accept spots!
 
And if the fourth quartile is top 25%, those of us on that would only have a total of 10 people max ahead of us. What makes me nervous is the fact that one person on here has already said they were pulled (6 days ago), which would make me believe there may have been more. Thus, we're either really close to getting pulled as well or it's just extremely unlikely it will happen.
 
Their initial ASA Status Update Email told me that I was in the "top 30th percentile". I asked what that meant and what my waitlist position was. The response was that there are "about 30" people in front of me. So I thanked them and gave up hope for getting in this cycle. On another note, this quartile thing is completely foreign to me. It was not mentioned at all in any of their correspondence to me.

Don't give up hope! Besides, you have an acceptance for next cycle, what could be better than not having to apply again?? I'm celebrating that!!
 
I'm so thrown off now. Why would they say "top" 30th percentile when 30th percentile is not what most would associate with "top"? The confusion here is really throwing me off. Did they perhaps mean top 30 percent? If that's the case, it's even more scary to think there are 100 people on the ASA list (well, at least when it comes to weighing out our chances of getting this year). Either way, I'm holding out hope. I really really want to get in this cycle lol!
 
I just emailed Lisa asking for clarification. Hopefully she will respond before the weekend! Obviously I wrote the email quickly and didn't read it because it sounded pretty darn silly, but oh well!
 
Just received a response. 30th percentile means top 30%, so Nazgul, you are in a better spot than all of us in the 4th quartile. 4th quartile is bad, as it means we are at the very bottom of the list.
 
ARGH!!! Guess we'll be waiting till 2019...unless there is insane amounts of movement on the list.

I'm in the same position. Lisa said it's absolutely an option! Very glad to hear I'm not the only one in that boat 🙂 My first child is due towards the end of this July, so matriculating in 2014 is not exactly feasible for me.

Just received the confirmation email. Ill be matriculating in 2015 :] I cant wait for that peak year. I've been in school my entire life from preK till now, a Senior in college. PHEW!! Graduation is in 2 weeks : yay
 
Hello...

For those still interested in matriculating this fall, the list is moving now, I assume. I received an e-mail from the school this morning offering me a spot in their entering class in July 2014 after they got notice of a withdrawal.
 
I hope they make it all the way down to me. I really want to go to school this fall!
 
Stupid question, but if you get pulled off the ASA and are still waiting for notification from another school, could you accept the offer and then withdraw later? I'll probably lose the deposit, but...

Got the acceptance email this afternoon, however im accepted somewhere else so going to decline the offer , but UNE is def one of my favorite choices, good luck everyone!
P.S. one thing i didnt understand is that I was in the third quartile, and I was told there are about 70 ppl on the waitlist so I wasnt giving too much hope to be pulled off the list so soon. So dont lose hope everyone!
 
Got an acceptance email yesterday, but declining the offer as I am already accepted somewhere else. I was in the 3rd quartile of the ASA list, so there is definitely hope! Good luck to everyone still waiting to hear back! UNECOM is a great school and I had so much fun during the interview!

Thanks! Fourth quartile. I was very shocked as I've heard the fourth quartile hasn't been called upon for the past few years. Now comes the daunting task of finding housing!!

I too got accepted! I was emailed last thursday, the 17th! SUCH short notice, but I couldn't be happier. I even found a place to live and put a deposit down already!

Submitted my deposit for the class of 2019 last week 🙂 anyone else in the same boat?
 
As my top choice, I'm digging this whole ASA list at UNE. I'm curious, what kind of stats have landed folks a spot?
