UNECOM is making me reschedule!!

Anyone else set to interview on Oct 25th? I just got an email from UNECOM stating that due to a "faculty retreat" thing, they have to reschedule all 10/25 interivews. I can't believe what a pain this is. I already have TWO NON-REFUNDABLE plane tickets from Colorado to Boston, the time scheduled off (very difficult to do!!) and the hotels, car, etc. booked. I'm seriously panicking here. I called and they basically repeated what the email said. They can't work with my scheduled trip at all. AGGGHHHH.

do you have any other interviews lined up? if this is not your top choice, i find this extremely unprofessional and I would tell them , well thanks but no thanks, I will not reschedule.

Obviously, most of us are in no position to say something like that, but I fit in the boat that says 'how they treat me when they want me will always be better than how they treat me when they have me'

If they do something like this to you now, that speaks volumes about the school to me. I may not even do my secondary with them now

ouch, that sucks... I interviewed there yesterday and everything is realllly nice. I think I bombed the interview though. It's a really nice school, I would consider rescheduling, what else can you do? You can either not go or grin and bear it... I wouldn't do anything in-between.

If it was just about any other school I'd tell them thanks, but no thanks. However UNECOM is my #1 DO school choice, so basically I'm willing to jump through any ridiculous and expensive hoops just to interview there. Ugh. I'm annoyed. I just talked to them and rescheduled for Dec 8th. Its nice that they have a couple of saturday dates, which helps with the work time-off problem. I hope interviewing 6 weeks later doesn't seriously affect my chances of getting in. I'm a decently strong candidate, so I hope their screw up doesn't hurt my chances of getting accepted. Now I just have to deal with Delta and their flight change fees!

Darn it, and I wanted to see Maine in the fall. Now it looks like it'll be a winter interview weekend for me.

I had to reschedule too. Though, I didn't realize they interviewed on Saturdays. I took that slot, b/c I'm missing too much work as it is. Luckily, I had not scheduled my travel arrangements yet. Sorry to hear about your travel woes 🙁

Last year I interviewed in the beginning of December and was accepted there by Christmas so do not worry about an interview in December

They should let us in automatically for the hassle. I promise it would have been a great interview UNECOM, don't worry about actually doing it...you can just send my acceptance now. Yeah, right.

Nope, thats the whole story. The admissions director was nice about it on the phone, I guess the dean scheduled some faculty retreat thing DESPITE the fact that they already had interviews planned. Grrrr.

We've just been made aware of a scheduling conflict which involves most of the faculty members assigned to interview on October 25th. Unfortunately, as a result, we have been forced to reschedule your interview. Following are a list of available dates/times. Please let me know which would be most convenient for you.

Hey - Sorry to hear about the major inconvenience.

The plane tickets, hotel rooms, and car rentals should all be fairly easy (though time consuming) to change to the days you now need them. The time off from work thing is another story.

I looked at your MDapps profile, and Maine would probably be a great location for your husbands career, so you might want to put up w/ the headache to check the place out.
