Im not an expert on these things like many of you seem to be, but I dont see why telling which programs are unmatched is a violation of any rule or viewed as unethical. It will be public knowledge in less than 48 hours, plus people will eventually talk, so whats the big deal if someone wants to say what they know. This board is not some official forum owned an operated by the NRMP...so who cares if it violates some obscure bylaw. I certainly dont think the page needed to be locked.

If I'm way off base here feel free to straighten me out

The problem is that the list is privileged information. People register and pay for that privilege. Posting this list is a violation of NRMP rules. And NRMP will go after SDN, perhaps legally. SDN doesn't need that kind of B.S.

The timing of the information is critical. Were someone to get the unmatched list say on Monday, they would be able to scramble like everyone else. If the unmatched programs were revealed on Thursday, then it makes no difference b/c that program is already filled. Besides, after the scramble all remaining unmatched programs will cease to become anonymous. At that point, it's fair game for everyone.

are there unfilled programs? is it fair game to ask where they are now or wait later?
