Unheard of?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
It's definitely not unheard of but it is rare. If you exceed all the requirements and apply early on in the process and get an interview and acceptance early on, it could happen. But it's also risky putting all your eggs in one basket.

This was my second time around applying. I took the risk and applied Early Decision to CMU. Thankfully I was accepted yesterday!

Is it unheard of to apply to only one DPT program?

Not unheard of. I actually did that my first year applying. I regret that decision, because like someone else mentioned, all your eggs are in one basket. Since each year becomes more competitive, give yourself the best opportunity to be accepted (or get lots of favorable looks in the event you need to apply again). Best of luck to you! :luck:
Peace and God bless

We have some that only apply to us. Some get accepted, some do not. If you are a state resident and applying to your state school and GREATLY EXCEED ALL requirements, then it may be less scary. But our interview with assessment of personal statement and LORs is weighted pretty heavily, and those can mess applicants up A LOT. So excellence in grades and GREs is no guarantee.
