A simple eyeglass drive can change lives internationally. More than 1 billion people in developing countries need eyeglasses but cannot afford them, while there are more than 4 million pairs of eyeglasses disposed of annually in North America. If you are interested in starting a Unite For Sight Eyeglass Drive at your university, office, or in your community, contact [email protected]. The process is very simple: place a Rubbermaid bin with Unite for Sight posters in libraries, university centers, and eye doctor offices. All of the eyeglasses that you collect will be prescribed by Unite For Sight volunteers in Tanzania, Uganda, Ghana, Benin, Somalia, Cameroon, Thailand and India.
