Just got an interview invite for February 6th! Couldn't be more excited!

Sorry, this may have been asked before but, do they notify you by email for interview or by snail mail? and im assuming rejections letters are sent out by snail mail right?

Interview invites are through e-mail. For the rest I'd assume snail mail.

To those on the ranked waitlist, I believe that they went through about 50 people last admissions cycle. Keep your spirits up everyone!

I know the year before me they went through 50 people on the waitlist, however, last year they went through less than that. If I were to guess I would say closer to 40. I know you have to wait long (Trust me it sucks) but there is still a great chance you get in. It was worth the wait!

Anyone want to tell me what they think my chances of are getting an interview for the Jan. 16th round of invitees?

Everything was submitted Dec. 16. And I got the completed application email on Dec. 17.

And is it true you have an advantage if you're an alumni? Alumni with a bachelors of art and chinese minor? I've done my pre-reqs. in WI.

Does anyone get in there with no pharmacy experience?

Hey, you look familiar  Congrats on the interview, I'm slacking on getting all of my supps in, and I have yet to finish this one.... It is so late in the game and the competition is at its high right now, I don't know if I should bother🙁...... No I'm just kidding, I love competition!

Would anyone be able to tell me what the cities are like where the two schools are located in Minnesota? And if you are a current student what your point of view is?

Anyone else get a January 16th interview? I've got an afternoon one.

Would you suggest taking the tour of the east bank of the campus??

I will be on the noon-12:30 student panel on January 16th at the TC campus. I'm a female PD1. Come say hi if you can. Good luck with your upcoming interviews!

Hey everyone! Just wondering how the new interviews went. Give us some insight to the process and how you liked the school. Hope everything is going well and good luck with all applications!

Just interviewed today in duluth... Think the interview went okay and I was really relaxed but seeing the other qualified applicants reminded me that they can't let us all in... Waiting a month for the letter is going to be brutal!!!

I interviewed in the Twin Cities this past Friday and it was an absolute ball. I am hoping for some positive news in the near future. Congrats to everyone who interviewed with me, did you guys/gals feel so juiced too? I couldn't stop dreaming 😛

Thanks UCB2005. It was the coldest day of the year though. Now comes the waiting.

For those of you who are current students, which location is preferred as far as location, ethnic diversity, EC's, and crime stats?

Is there a statistical difference for those who are accepted into the TC campus and those at the Duluth campus? The website states there are 68% open seats in TC, and 75% in Duluth, and 38% open seats for interviews, I'm having a hard time deciding where to apply? Help!
Also do the schoos offer a variety of residencies?

The location that you choose is based on your personal preference. If you choose either campus, you have a better chance of getting in if placed on the ranked waitlist. The Twin Cities are much bigger than Duluth and have more "big city" things to do. Duluth is great if you like a more medium sized town and like outdoor activities. It's gorgeous up here year round. The Twin Cities are definitely more diverse than Duluth.

There is no statistical difference between the TC and Duluth students. If you have a chance, visit both campuses to see which one you like best. If you are too far away, you can do searches online for photos, crime stats, etc. I believe that you can do a residency anywhere in the country that you want, you don't have to stay in the same city that you completed pharmacy school.

Do you guys think it's too late to turn my supplemental application in? I know the deadline isn't until 2/16, but it IS a rolling admissions school...would it be a waste of $75 at this point? I'm gonna try to get everything finished and mailed off, and hope that the competition among everyone else who's applying last minute isn't too bad, so I can at least say I gave it a shot. It sounds like a great program, I'm really kicking myself for not getting everything in sooner!

Well it is late to apply but I would still go for it. I know of people last year who had their interviews in March but still got accepted into the program. You would be kicking yourself if you didn't do this so make sure at least give it try. Good luck

ugg ranked waitlist more waiting 🙁

I will be giving the pharmacy building tour (9:00am) and will be on the student panel (12:00pm) so make sure if anyone has questions just let me know! good luck to everyone and keep us updated!

Got my acceptance letter today (Friday). Yay 🙂

Has anyone checked out the U of MN Pharmacy Admissions webpage? There are 60% of spots left and only 18% of interview dates remaining. I'm on the unranked waitlist and am trying to figure out if I should bother squeezing in physics 1 and 2 over the summer as I had originally stated on my pharmcas application or if should just plan on taking it for fall 2010 admission. Any advice? I talked to Sara Lofstrom and she said they haven't ever accepted anyone from the unranked waitlist but looking at the stats makes me think there's a chance. U of MN pharm students, does this seem pretty typical of the U of MN or have they accepted less people this year?

At my interview last Friday they said they have only taken students once off the unranked list. I would probably call them before you start the summer class, in April or so, and see how things stand, but chances are not good.

Yeah, that's what I thought. I think I'm going to go ahead and call her tomorrow. I was just wondering if this is typical of past years. It just doesn't seem right to admit 90% of the last interview group if the people from the first interview date have better stats. Thanks for your help.

I am on the unranked waitlist as well, but according to the University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy website 12% of interview spots remain, yet they have more than half the class yet to fill (58%). They updated this on 2/18 and have stopped taking pharmcas applications. Are these stats about normal at this point in the application process, or should those of us on the unranked waitlist begin to have some hope?

Has anyone heard of Minnesota eliminating the last interview? I'm not sure if this happened last year, but a friend told me that this one year they filled all of their seats that they didn't even do the last interview. It was also mentioned on the website that they will continue to interview until all the seats are filled. I was just wondering if anyone had heard of this happening..b/c it seems kinda cruel to give out invites only to take them away.

That would be pretty cruel but I don't think that will happen. They have over 50% of the seats left at both of the schools and have given out 50 % of the spots to 2/3's of the total people interviewed (this is assuming that they havent given out spots yet to those who interviewed on the 20th but who did interview on the 6th).
