I’m set on the school if I get an acceptance.Hi guys, Im a Canadian currently deciding between Bristol's accelerated program and an Australian school. Is anyone on here set for attending Bristol and would you mind sharing your reasoning with me? Im so torn haha
I’m highly considering Bristol over some US schools because they have a hospital on campus and their tuition isn’t that expensive compared to others. I would also recommend visiting both schools if possible!Hi guys, Im a Canadian currently deciding between Bristol's accelerated program and an Australian school. Also Canadian and considering Bristol!! I’ve heard they have a good program and people quite like it from other threads/forums, so thats kindve influencing my decision. Im hesitating a bit though because while the international tuition is cheaper than other schools, Ive also heard about how difficult and pricey it is to find housing.Hi guys, Im a Canadian currently deciding between Bristol's accelerated program and an Australian school. I’ve been looking into housing over there and it’s definitely expensive. I’m sure they have people that share housing to help minimize costs. My husband and I have been looking into other surrounding areas that are definitely cheaper but we are likely to have to buy a small house over there and sell ours here due to our pets coming too. Also Canadian and considering Bristol!! If you dont mind me asking, do you plan to stay over there after graduating? The salary requirement for the skilled work visa seems like it makes it pretty difficult to get, especially being over 26 after graduating. I have been thinking about moving down but the pay new veterinarians get there seems like it is not enough/makes it difficult to meet the visa requirements.I’ve been looking into housing over there and it’s definitely expensive. Honestly, most likely not. My husband and I have dual citizenship between Ireland and US so highly likely we will go somewhere in Europe. I could get a little more info from my family that live in England but it does look costly. I’m sure it also depends on what you want to do when you’re done, if you focus on equine/livestock that would increase the starting salary over there. If you dont mind me asking, do you plan to stay over there after graduating? I am trying to figure out how feasible it would be to move to Bristol completely for school and after. Does anyone have any insight on this process?
Sadly. Me.Who else has yet to hear from Bristol?
I haven't either.Who else has yet to hear from Bristol?
Have you been accepted into any of the schools you’ve heard from?Hopefully we do soonit’s my last UK school I need to hear from.
No, "just" interviews so far.Have you been accepted into any of the schools you’ve heard from?
UGH!!! It's kinda frustratingNo, "just" interviews so far.
thats awesome! Congrats.I heard back from them this morning with an offer! It's my first time applying internationally but it is my 2nd vet school cycle I've applied to. Also if anyone is wondering, I applied through VMCAS on 9/16 (VMCAS deadline) and did the SAQ on 10/9 and recieved the offer today, 12/3 at 6:41 PST. I'm super excited but I know for everyone the anticipation of waiting is terrible. I'm hopeful you all will hear soon!
I stalked the UK threads on student room a while back and it looked like little/not many had received offers for the 4 year program, so I wouldnt worry about seats being full just yet. What sucks is I submitted my VMCAS application in July and I submitted my SAQ on 09/21/2024 and still haven't heard a thing from the school. I know it's important to be patient, but I am worried they have filled up all their acceptance spots and I'll get a rejection soon... 🙁
Congratulations!I got an acceptance from Bristol this morning at 8AM PST! I applied on September 13 and submitted the SAQ on Oct 6. I’m thrilled!!! Crossing my fingers for anyone who hasn’t heard yet!
Edit: my offer was for the 4-year program!

If you are 100% positive you are accepting the offer then I would accept right away. I’m holding off for now as I am still waiting on a lot of schools here in the US which includes my top 2 schools. How long do yall give before letting the vet school if you accept or deny their offer? Asking for a friend 😅😅
CONGRATS!!!! I am sure you will make an amazing veterinarian!!Finally. Offered for the 2025-2026 school year. The graduate program. I received the offer today at 5:47 CST
I have not found one, but I would be open to joining one to meet my potential future classmates 😀is there a GroupMe or Group chat or even a Facebook page of applicants that have been accepted/ accepted the offer into Bristol?
I’m hoping to find one soon to meet my future classmates, but also discuss the visa process and other updates. 🥹🥹CONGRATS!!!! I am sure you will make an amazing veterinarian!!

Their website said to reach out if you hadn’t heard anything in 8 weeks but they sent me literally word for word what the website says about “it may take longer but we’re doing our best” so I would give it a few more weeksShould I reach out to Bristol soon if I haven’t heard anything?![]()

I’m unsure too. Most of the others on Facebook are private which is fine, but I want to be able to connect and figure out everything before going there. Like visa and financial aid 😅😅Are these groups usually started by the school or does one of us need to start a group? I’m not sure how any of this works
Did you have to fill it out for undergrad? It’s the same processes it’s super straight forward you just add Bristol to the place where it’s asking where you are attending school. Last year they redid the whole thing and it was SO MUCH EASIER than it ever was. Took me legit 15 minsI’m a US citizen and I’m trying to figure out how to file my FASFA and I’m hoping to connect with people that are in the same boat trying to figure this all out so I won’t be stressing once I get to Bristol 😁😅

I’m pretty sure it would be postgrad as a DVM program would be a postgrad program in the USI’ve started it but I haven’t figured if it’s undergrad or postgrad.
Bristol is considered an undergraduate program in the UK so I’m not sure. I would call them and see what the designation is they want you to put!I’m pretty sure it would be postgrad as a DVM program would be a postgrad program in the US
I’ve been wondering a lot about if we can still apply for FAFSA to study there so thank you for bringing that up here!! Also, for the FB page there is one I saw someone mentioned the Centaurs page which is a good way to see activities that go I. In the area/school but that is not run by the school (says somewhere on their website).I’m a US citizen and I’m trying to figure out how to file my FASFA and I’m hoping to connect with people that are in the same boat trying to figure this all out so I won’t be stressing once I get to Bristol 😁😅
I emailed Bristol that I accept their offer and I also asked them about if it’s undergrad or postgrad on FAFSA. So I’ll keep an update once I get it. I also would love to join a group if someone makes it 😁I’ve been wondering a lot about if we can still apply for FAFSA to study there so thank you for bringing that up here!! If someone ends up starting a group on FB or even messenger I’d love to join and get to know everyone. Just received a rejection from my top school so things are pushing more towards Bristol.
