This is my home institution ....Its a decent program .... good enough numbers wise and you get to see a fair bit. Some recent turmoil with regards to the Chair and some faculty leaving. Residents seemed happy enough ... I wouldn't say the program is malignant or anything but with 7-8 residents you do have your fair share of cat fights....I wouldn't say it was my best rotation in med school but it was not the worst one either and not bad enough to put me off the field. I just had better experience at other places and would rank them higher.

On the whole ... I would rank it but it would be more of a safety school for me rather than the preferred one. If you have any specific question .. just ask away !!

Would you possibly be able to compare TriHealth to Cincy or do you not rotate over there at all?

Sorry no experience with tri-health ... think I read some guy raving about the tri-health program here on this forum I think...none the less its fairly new !!

Don't get me wrong guys ... our progam is not bad .. its just not for me I feel. There 7 of us applying for Obs and none of us are thinking of staying here !! I don't want to stereotype programs but if you just look at the website .. its fairly IMG heavy .... you can draw your own conclusions from that !! It tends not draw a lot of US grads but the IMGs that do come are quite good.

If i was local, i would totally look into Univ of Cincy because of one of the most widely recognized clinician researchers in the field of the preeclampsia spectrum of diseases. Dr. Sibai has done amazing work in uncovering many theories of these diseases as well as looking into the the long term effects that PE can have on women and their children. I have met him and he is great! Look into the program and good luck!

On the apgo site it said that there are only 1-2 fmgs/yr... how many do u think there are? They have a Rei program with call of q10 per apgo which is what attracted me....is any of this true?

He's leaving to go to the Washington Hospital Center (D.C.) from what I understand.

Like I said .. there is a bit of a turmoil with regards to the chair and they are changing faces at the moment ... hopefully they will be able to sort things out!!

Just wanted to clarify that Trihealth is a fairly new program in the sense that it is a new merger. However, it is a merger of two very well established programs, Bethesda North and Good Samaritan. This match will represent the third merged class. Yes, we have had some small bumps along the way, but overall have come through the merge quite well.

Yes, I am a strong advocate of this program, and would be happy to answer any questions.

Just wondering if anyone could clear up the FMG numbers for U of Cincy, only seems like 1-2 per year which doesn't seem like that many too me. . .

I guess I am more concerned about the department stability. . . wonder how I should address the "rumors" on the interview

And I actually thought the program had a lot of strengths. There is change happening, but I didn't really find that as a bad thing. Anyhow, if you have an interview there, you might be pleasantly surprised. . . I was!
