Just got my UF conditional acceptance!!!! Of course now I don't have to move to Savannah in two days and I can stay right here and kick some competition at a horse show this weekend! Dreams do come true! 😍😍😍😍

BTW, the e-mail didn't go through properly so I called and they re-sent it!!

Hey guys! I first wanted to say congrats on your acceptances! I will be applying for the fall of 2012 (next year) and I wanted some advice about applying. I first wanted to start off by saying I am out of state (I live in GA, I'm a UGA Bulldawg 😎) which I already know is a disadvantage, but it's definitely worth a shot, right? I wanted to share my credentials and see if you guys think I should even apply at all.

3.91 cumulative GPA (3.96ish science GPA)
85 PCAT
I will be a third year in the fall (No bachelors)
Will have had 4-5 months pharmacy experience job shadowing and will keep continuing (currently doing so) and planning on getting pharm tech certified by the end of the summer
1 year of research experience, finished & published my thesis
Havent done THAT much extracurriculars aside from HSA & other small events (hispanic student association) and several (4-6) projects with them, but planning on getting more involved in the fall
I'm Hispanic (if you guys weren't able to tell, lol) and fluent in English and Spanish and very proficient in French (minoring) and will be taking Italian as well

I am planning on having the owner of the pharmacy where I work at write me a LOR as well as my research coordinator (so I'd have two fairly solid LOR's)

So, do you guys think the ''out of state'' title in my application deteriorates alot from the rest? I also really don't want to retake the PCAT although I read that they consider 85+ for out of state. I plan on applying SUPER early so like that my application can be one of the first that is reviewed. I know that its really expensive for us out-of-staters (~40k/yr) but 1-it's top 10, so it'd be a great investment and 2-it's FLORIDA! duh! haha 🙂 Thanks in advance!

what do you mean the email did not go through and they resent it? Do i need to call and check on mine maybe that is why i still have not heard, happy for you even more nervous for me.... 🙁

Definitely call and do not worry! Yes, I called and they were like oh we sent your acceptance... I don't think it went through... I said it didn't... they re-sent in a minute! They're so nice don't hesitate to call! Best of luck, I doubt you need it, really! Xxx.

I won my class of 6, then my class of 13, then 5 minutes before we left the show grounds was announced Grand Champion for the first time in my life, won a wine chalice and a cooler, swag, etc... Lol and earlier I was joking with my riding coach that if I didn't do well UF might rescind my conditional acceptance.... Guess I don't have to worry about that one! 😀

Don't worry, distract yourself, be happy and think positively. I know that there was a handful of people at Orlando left to be selected and your interview was a lot more people so I am sure that Orlando was processed first!
